I guess every developer under the sun has to try for that pot of gold.
What's next, the Minecraft MOBA ?
if you don't know wtf you are talking about, just don't spread misinformation. the game is nothing like a moba at all.
it's a faster paced 10v10 multiplayer total war game where you only control 3 units.
you have 3 factions each with 2 or 3 heroes.
these heroes give bonus to different type of units (melee/ranged/cavalry), they also gain levels giving them access to more buffs/tools for the units you control (better turn rate for archers, faster charge for cavalry, etc)
and you have a techtree a la world or tank. (with unit ranging from tier 1 to 10)
how on earth is that a goddamn moba ?
Multiplayer? check
Online? check
Battle? check
Arena? check
insert rant about why it isn't a MOBA here ____________.

p.s. MOBA = Multiplayer online battle arena. This game has multiplayer, it's online, there a battles which happens on arenas (which are disguised as a scenery though). It's 100% pure MOBA.
Thank you for your time!

On topic, I know they only do strategy games but it would be cool if you could actually fight with your commander like in KUF and TK.
CS:GO - MOBA
WoT - MOBA
Warthunder - MOBA
pretty much anything would fall under this title
Multiplayer Online Battle Arena
And since Arena meaning "a place or scene of activity, debate, or conflict."
This could be applied to any game with in which you join fight and leave.
So in turn this game would fall under a MOBA title
But as most people think MOBA and think League of Legends or DOTA 2 This game does not feel or play like this.
you could even put dayz and left 4 dead in the moba category according to their definition. hence the trolling flag for these idiots, thank you.
The business model will work out like this:
Create a unit > wait for 5 minutes or choose to accelerate > choose to accelerate and pay 5 gems.
Seriously though, I hope it won't ends like Clash of Clans.

TW: Arena is surprisingly fun, I played ~50 or so games of its earlier CBTs last year. I had some gripes with it though, I hope they get to nail down the feel of the game. It was pretty close when I played it last year, just ever so barely missing the apex.

Like, what possible kind of items they'll sell on their cash shop for the game's monetization?
