Wow, 2017 looks to be a great year for gaming.... Housing next week, Mass Effect Andromeda in March, then back to ESO Vvardenfel in June. I have to plan my gaming accordingly.
The Warden class looks very cool. I plan to create a new Warden just for the new Chapter (like most other playes) The game trailer made the class look soooo good. Very impressive.

Thank you ESO for keeping this game fun.
The new class is interesting. I was expecting them to bring back some of the skill lines but not the entire class.
A good class for those looking for a ranger type to play. Will roll one for sure.
after my hype high settled. "Morrowind will be the game’s largest zone to date" ...
that didnt fall right with me considering we already have this zone as a starter zone- am i wrong? are they just adding a big new story to an existing zone?- if so, this is disappointing.
It looks like they are adding Vvardenfell. That's a huge island.
It's big but just roughly the size of any typical PVE zone.
but that's a map. How does it really translate as I Morrowind is very large in the single player game.

Different game with its own scale and travel mechanics.

That's exactly my point. We don't really know how large this will be. Or how small.

From what they said in the stream (as I recollect) the middle of the island will not be accessible and they keep talking about 30 hours of story content. In the Orsinium DLC announcement they kept talking about 20 hours of story. But story doesn't really = map size since it can be story dense or story sparse.
The island itself is big but yes, we won't know how it feels until it's released. I doubt it will feel as big as the Morrowind SP game did though.

Just picked up ESO (2nd hand - €8 only) for my PS4 yesterday. With this expansion and it's kick-ass collectors edition, I'm seriously considering to drop FF14 and hop totally back into ESO (FF14 sub ending in a week anyway...)

I don't remember the time line but there is a volcano in the middle of the island. I wonder if that will be another questline later down the line. I'm not sure where Dagoth Ur figures into all this and when.

Dagoth Ur's awakening is about 50 years later on.

Hyped. I just came back to ESO and while it's so sickeningly casual I love playing it nevertheless. I have faith they recaptured some of Morrowind spirit since it was an amazing RPG. Minus the combat, the graphics and the sometimes annoying factions.
And cliff racers.
And that guy who says:
"Ahh yes, we've been expecting you. You'll have to be recorded before you're officially released. There are a few ways we can do this, and the choice is yours."
They said in the stream the guy who records you before you're officially released is an ancestor of the original guy from Morrowind :P
They also will have cliff racers they confirmed. I am hyped for this.
they should stop charging for dungeons and include them in dlcs and chapters. it's insulting to charge 40 for a glorified dlc and not include any dungeons and then charge them seperately each damn year right after a chapter release. you shouldn't charge full expack price for something little more than a dlc called chapter without including stuff like this.
I'll definitely be coming back just for the Warden because I'm a Nord fanboy through and through and the class just screams "Nord!". Bear pet with ice magic? Yes, please. Nord+Warden=Norden. But the only issue I've ever had with this game, and it's a pretty major issue for me, is Cyrodiil performance. I love that Realm vs Realm-style PvP and for ESO's AvA to be an unplayable mess is a huge disappointment for me. I'll come back to ESO for the PvE but as soon as Camelot Unchained is ready to launch, I'll probably be jumping ship.
If only they coul bring the gameplay of Morrowind with the expansion
When was the last time you played Morrowind? Yes, it was good for its day...but in 2017 Morrowind gameplay/pacing/animations/skills etc. would be atrocious.
Wanna be hyped but the first thing they show us in the trailer is the same old clockworks i been fighting since level 5 of the release...when are these mmo dev's going to get a clue, encounters and combat are 90% of the gameplay it doesnt matter if I am in a jungle or snowy mountain if I am slugging it out with the same monsters that fight the exact same way its just ZzzzzzzZZZZZz, so if im not playing the new class there is very little that will last more than a few days of new car shine.
Not much of an Elder Scrolls fan are you?
Not judging. Just your remarks strike me as someone who isn't familiar with the established world/setting. If you're go to Vvardenfell, you're going to encounter the creatures and locations that exist in Vvardenfell.
This isn't a new MMO whose lore is being created from scratch. This is a long-enduring world/setting that's already been established for many years.

Well, they have said it will be an enormous area, substantially the largest PvE zone added to the game to date.
I think some people are getting too hung up on the map size, though; as though that's the sole indicator of how content-dense the expansion will be. As was said by someone else, I believe, map size does not indicate how content rich the area is. They have packed quite a lot of stuff into the existing zones, so I expect they'll manage to pack far more in Vvardenfell. And that's just the overworld areas.
There's 5 more months 'til this releases, and that's a lot of time for them to reveal more details about it. I think people should relax and stop trying to nail it down to anything at this point.
I think my money is going to Stormblood and FFXIV right now. At least I can enjoy all aspects of the game with solid performance. I logged into ESO for a week recently and it still has high ping, lag, performance issues along with much concern (still) with cheat engine and exploits.
sounds like that money should be goin to a new router n computer...

to be fair it looks like the length of ciyrodill and thats HUGE!!- but i see what your saying -how much lava could i intake...iam hyped for the 4v4v4 pvp maps!
It could eventually I guess, but I doubt it at least not anytime soon. They're selling the xpac with the base game and as a separate upgrade option for existing players.
yeah I'm sure it's inevitable for it to go F2P at some point. Yet that won't happen until they can no longer see profit in selling the base game or feel they need a massive surge in active players.

Anet did kind of the same thing with GW2, selling the base game, plus the expansion preorder, then a few weeks before the expansion they announced that the base game would be free with minor limitations. There was no upgrade, but I imagine if they wanted to get people to buy the expansion they should first get people hooked on the base game.
