Are There Any "Biometrically Correct" MMO Gameplay?

maxlancemaxlance Member UncommonPosts: 35
Greetings!

Long ago I started off gaming with aircraft simulations which prided themselves on being as real-world accurate in physics as they could. After skimming Dark Souls and NIOH and their superhuman ninja action, I'm wondering whether there are any games where characters adhere to "physiologically correct"? (for want of a better term) limitations and abilities such as exhaustion and rest/recovery and persistent injury effects and acrobatics?  It seems to me you wouldn't even have to re-engineer a game for such, just install new performance limits as an option to see how well your character would act with real-world "bodies" pushed to Olympic Game limits. Be a nice wrinkle to perk up a game.

I'm not a programmer or techie so I'm interested to see whether such is possible.

Thanks for any remarks!

Max

I'm not really aware of anything that promotes itself as more of a simulation than a game.  And since  you're throwing 'physiologically correct' into the pile, allow me to toss in 'psychologically correct' as well.  Realistically, fighting 100 fights-to-the-death in a game day is a bit much.

Game developers are too focused on the 'game' part of RPG.  Have been for quite some while.

Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.

Fully understood. Wasn't thinking of an entire game based on this, just as an "what if option" mode aside. Thanks.

Too hard,ONLY in a single player game.

Models are too high polycount, too many vertices, joints then you add in view many models and background animations/graphics.sounds/music/effects it is just too much load.
Yes you can simulate stuff like injury but it is a lot of work.
Developers are not out there trying to give us a full on immersive game, they are trying to whip something out as fast as possible.

As well if a developer DID TRY and give us that great animated character, they would have to spend tons of time testing and tweaking every last map zone for lag.
If you have noticed,a lot of games characters are tiny in the world, the details is actually quite low because the models are so tiny.
Then look at other games, you only see the hands, developers are just not going to give us their best effort and i doubt it will ever happen.
But to answer the question,YES almost anything you can think of is possible.Just look at animated movies.
What i want to see happen before i am long gone is real true VR,where we fully control our players legs and hands and movement.Sadly i do not expect to see it in my lifetime,i would say maybe around 2030.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

    No.

If you're okay with single player game, try Skyrim with mods that increase realism.

Survival games probably come the closest to what you are asking for.

Well except for all of the zombies and dinosaurs.  ;)
