Warhammer 40k: Eternal Crusade News - During yesterday's weekly livestream event, WarHammer 40k: Eternal Crusade developers slipped out one of the first details about the rumored free trial version of the game. From what was said, players with free trial accounts would have access to more than one faction and class. The team has plans to reveal more about the trial version in a next little while.

Free trial sounds good to me because there is no way in hell no matter i think the game looks good, would i pay any money up front.
It does look pretty cool,i would likely play it,sort of gives me that Quake sort of feeling.

Actually looks much better than what it did some months ago. Still not my cup of tea but nice to see that the team behind it sharpens the game some what. Because the first release daaamn it was ugly XD

Yeah it really just looks 100% like an Unreal mod to be honest.
Not sure on the quality of their staff but if i were them i would hire some better mappers.
50 bucks buy in for an Unreal mod is far too steep.

it is good to hear they are fixing stuff before moving on but i also get the feeling this is a very small team.

After its launch and its many many issues of becoming something that was not pitched, I feel this is much to little, far to late to ever pull the title out of the mire.

Plus building on what Wizardry said about the pricing, asking that amount of money requires a good game and faith in the product , and they used all their faith up a long time ago.

The usual for a game released to early, post launch spin of promises of better things and little carrots placed on long poles and string to dance before your eyes, but forever just out of reach.

    Short answer............Not much.

I totally had to refund this game on steam, such a trash game, unplayable. What a waste of resources, and waste of a 40k hype. As much as I like 40K franchise, this is just trash!!!!!!

So did I, and I feel I wasted 10 bucks because of it. What a horrible game, I'll be playing Inquisitor Martyr instead.

'the only way he could nail it any better is if he used a cross.'

    Kyleran on yours sincerely

'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'

Ikcin in response to yours sincerely debating whether or not single-player offline MMOs exist...

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

It is just huge resource waste....'

It would be better if it was more like PS2 with an always on map rather than this lobby crap.

Basically they rushed release of this game was to get funding to somewhat finish it up for a F2P release. I try to play it after every "patch" but everyone of their patches cause more problems than fixes. They can't even make simple deadlines and lie all the time, they said they started working on Terminators last summer and we just seen the first white box a few weeks ago. I would suggest looking into the ARMA2 and 3 mod if you want a 40k shooter or even go back to space marine. If you just want something 40k get Tabletop simulator, Martyr or Armada.. Or just wait for DOW3.

The main issue here is that the studio acquired a big IP and their vision was too "big". They had just received the Star Citizen contract to make modules and they tried to emulate the same payment method (buy packages etc.).

Making an MMO is no small feat. They should have just looked at Planetside 2 and aimed for that or something similar while innovating in other areas.

The only Warhammer MMO I wanted, was the one advertised before THQ went down.

I am also getting the humble bundle for the game since I think the game will not survive the next 2 years, unless they put serious resources / time into the game and design.

Humble Bundle monthly is where it's at - no this wasn't on monthly bundle, Warhmmer Vermintide was and now Warhammer Total War is upcoming next month - you know the GOOD warhammer games heh
I guess there is more than one humble bundle, this was from humble bundle 2 and there is still a day and a half on it.
Oh I see the humble monthly is a monthly subscription one.

It's available on the current Bandai Namco bundle. But it is not on the humble monthly bundle: https://www.humblebundle.com/monthly which is what DMKano was saying.

If you're writing the game off because of what it was a year ago I'd suggest giving it another shot because it has improved greatly and gets updated more than some other MMO's or FPS.

I'd also like to mention that the game is a FPS and has swappable weapons(not just cosmetic) + skill tress(AP) which is something I can't find in another shooter atm.

That being said though there are a few game design choices they made that are extremely bad when it comes to balance in a pvp game. I personally feel like those imbalances are what keeps the playerbase from growing beyond a certain point.

Should have had Demons as a playable faction.  That would've been so ridiculous that it'd at least set the game apart from other FPS games.
