Warhammer 40k: Eternal Crusade News - During yesterday's weekly livestream event, WarHammer 40k: Eternal Crusade developers slipped out one of the first details about the rumored free trial version of the game. It does look pretty cool,i would likely play it,sort of gives me that Quake sort of feeling.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Not sure on the quality of their staff but if i were them i would hire some better mappers.
50 bucks buy in for an Unreal mod is far too steep.
it is good to hear they are fixing stuff before moving on but i also get the feeling this is a very small team.

Plus building on what Wizardry said about the pricing, asking that amount of money requires a good game and faith in the product , and they used all their faith up a long time ago.
The usual for a game released to early, post launch spin of promises of better things and little carrots placed on long poles and string to dance before your eyes, but forever just out of reach.
Short answer............Not much.

Kyleran on yours sincerely
'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'
Ikcin in response to yours sincerely debating whether or not single-player offline MMOs exist...
'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'
Gdemami absolutely not being an armchair developer
Making an MMO is no small feat. They should have just looked at Planetside 2 and aimed for that or something similar while innovating in other areas.
The only Warhammer MMO I wanted, was the one advertised before THQ went down.
I am also getting the humble bundle for the game since I think the game will not survive the next 2 years, unless they put serious resources / time into the game and design.
Oh I see the humble monthly is a monthly subscription one.

I'd also like to mention that the game is a FPS and has swappable weapons(not just cosmetic) + skill tress(AP) which is something I can't find in another shooter atm.
That being said though there are a few game design choices they made that are extremely bad when it comes to balance in a pvp game. I personally feel like those imbalances are what keeps the playerbase from growing beyond a certain point.
