TERA News - The TERA team is asking for the community's input to name the next class coming to the game sometime in or after April. En Masse had named it the Paragon, a female glaive-wielding hero, but apparently the name hasn't struck a chord with the community. As a result, a new poll has been posted to ask for input.

variant?
Thank you for your time!
Don't bother asking, this debate has been going on a long time in Tera, debate is too kind , MANY complaints lodged, but have fallen on deaf ears at En Masse.
Moondancer
Sentinel
Valkyrie
Glaivedancer
Ugh.. gonna go with Paragon.
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile
Whether or not that justifies such a thing as okay etc is an entirely other matter, of course.
Thats great and all. But even if this is true. That still doesn't excuse 3 female only classes in a row. Before anyone says "most ppl play females in Tera". Well no shit. When all the newest classes are female only. It doesn't take rocket surgery to figure out why.
Paragon to me denotes some sort of holy or light power class, like in Guild Wars. In fact I thought this new TERA class was another healer at first just due to the name.
A melee warrior that uses a glaive and is female only? Screams Valkyrie.
Edit: I forgot about the moon power resource pool so Moondancer also sounds fitting. It will be one of the two if the poll winner ends up being the one EME BH goes with. Side note, I am impressed at the amount of total votes. Sure, an account is free but I doubt people would go to that extreme to dup vote on a class name.
from what i remember reading a while back, its because people in Korea people rather play those races and gender. As it's Blueholes choice and not Enmasse or gameforge, they design things like this based around what the players over there want. While the game is doing very well here, i think most of the playerbase is Korean based
When you don't want the truth, you will make up your own truth.
... even before gender locks, female characters, specially elins by a wide margin, were always the most popular, stop talking what you dont know about, you sound really pathetic at this point.
As a counter-argument, EME should be relaying preferences of the region they are responsible for and hopefully they are. BH may still decide to stick with gender and race locked classes as that's thier prerogative. NA/EU markets may not be large enough to sway them.
It's worth noting that all studies I could find do not show a large preference for female avatars overall, only that more males prefer to play females characters than vice-versa (20% vs 8%).
I Was There Since Beta Kid. Only reason Elins were popular was because of the hit box advantage and the reach they have. Majority of players I talked to that played them didn't even like them. They just used them for that extra edge. You see, it's you that doesn't have a clue.
Is all about the money, people end up making more females then males in a MMO they go where the most amount money is. Other part too is lazyness companies just to save more money.
