Mass Effect: Andromeda News - The latest Mass Effect Andromeda video in the ongoing Gameplay Series has been unleashed, this time focused on exploration in the forthcoming title. You'll get a first hand look at the Nomad, the Mako-like ground vehicle, that can be upgraded in a number of ways. In addition, Bioware devs speak about over a hundred planets that lay in space to be discovered with "a handful" that can be explored on the ground. Lastly, exploration also includes finding and populating "forward stations".

That was the best video yet. Gives a much better sense of how the game will be played.
    ...excitement building.

Sigh hoping the 1070 GTX drops its price soon so I can get the card in time to play this game.

If 2016 was a pretty shit year for gaming (except Doom and Dishonored), then 2017 is already shaping up to be a great year with ME:A.

This is going to be finally a worthy GOTY contender.

No animation for entering/exiting the Nomad? You teleport in?

"A handful" of ground explorable planets? So under a dozen out of "over a hundred" probably.

    Still excited though.

Bartoni's Law definition: As an Internet discussion grows volatile, the probability of a comparison involving Donald Trump approaches 1.

Game looks awesome. Wonder if it's worth buying at launch or waiting until it goes on sale in a year.

Is the multiplayer going to be significant? Or is going to be like the multiplayer in Assassin's Creed games, where it's just a mini-game.

So the Krogan "planet" - does that mean that the Krogan Ark was the first to find the planet and decided to set up a base? I thought all of the planets, etc. were "unknown" and no being from the Milky Way has ever set foot on them - please explain?

this sound soo much like dragon age Inquisition with the vaults and all that, not that I mind but still they could come with something original.

The only races that have their own Ark are Humans, Salarians, Turians and Asari. Other races are "hitchhikers" in a way. It's possible that a contingent of Krogan are aboard each of the Arks.

The data on Andromeda was researched before they left our galaxy. They had a rough idea of "golden planets" based on that research and aimed for those.

It seems to be patterned after Mass Effect 3 and that multiplayer -- cooperative multiplayer -- was really, really fun. I put more hours into MP than I did into my many playthroughs of ME3.

It's fair to assume that ME:A won't be the last game in the franchise (unless it does really badly).

So will there be a story thread unfolding in this first "episode" that will set the scene for 1 or 2 follow-up games ?

From what has been said, these games are essentially "stand alone" and it appears that the main protagonist won't carry through subsequent games as Shepard did in the original trilogy. Whether they've altered their opinion on that or not remains to be seen.

They actually made one, but the usability testers said it was annoying so they removed it.

I can see that. The helicopter animation in Metal Gear Solid V was annoying after the first time.
