I just don't get the appeal since it lacks longevity.  There is literally nothing to do PvE wise once you hit the level cap except farm.
Maybe people are playing because they are having fun and "that's" the appeal?

Agreed, I don't watch any of those and making food is right up there with watching people clean bathrooms.

Now imagine you could chat with the players or people making food, along with hundreds or thousands of others who like the same thing, in real time.  Man that would be awesome.

Some in this thread act like they have an investment in BDO falling on its face.

I don't have any definitive proof. I log in and play the game. With DK launch I was server hopping like mad and every level group, every server had multiple groups leveling Dark Knight. The game is alive and well.
Yep, I noticed. I was there to see the swarm of DKs falling upon the lands the moment the servers went live. And that was even during a time where a good deal of the player base was at work.

But, shhh... it's a dying game. No one likes it. Because everyone shares the opinion of these few guys that hang around on these boards all day long to complain about the (many) games they don't like. ;)
I don't have any issue with BDO. It wasn't for me, but I see the appeal for others. It's also one of (if not the best) the most impressive mmos visually. My point is just that twitch is and never has been a definite indication of a games population.  Problem is, fan boys can't accept anything but agreement.

But Black Desert still gets rather old...

1.) XingCode violates peoples privacy found it finally coping files into my C:\windows directories, had to go in there to remove them...

2.) Every Day its do daily accept daily quests get Scrolls that (Expire in 7 days if you don't run them) this needs QOL changes to make the game better for example no expiring and like sky forge it holds up to 7 days automatically to go slay the bosses with guild or friends no need to accept these anymore.

3.) The game feels too grindy again if you don't run those scrolls you don't really got a way to make in game gold and currency let alone get the items you need these should be random drops as well from other places dungeons and bosses.

Over-All I liked "Arche Age" better as a game, sure "Black Desert" has some improvements with combat absolutely but there is just more it felt like you could do on Arche Age I could make thousands of gold a week without doing a single quest or farming a single boss if I wanted to, in Black desert its constantly repeat the same frigging things till your bored and just quit...

In addition to all this its got the same frigging problems as Arche Age, and other MMO's (Develops / Company doesn't listen to player feed-back when asked to increase pearl shop items past 192.)

You bite your tongue,i happen to like bowling lol.

I can explain it to you,it is the personalities as well as it is the BEST way to learn about a game without paying any money. Now to be honest a large majority of streamers are sellouts, everything is all about money and NOT the game but some streamers are legit.

Plus i can multi task, play a game, watch a game as well check my MMA or sports scores or even split screen while watching a movie or on my laptop.

Furthermore, i can tell you right now,at least for me,MOST of these games are NOT FUN to play,it is more fun to watch the streamers lose their mind and sometimes just have fun, joke around.
Wait, there is more,if i am playing the same game, such as Hearthstone, you can learn a lot from other streamers about the current meta without having to play 50 games a day like they do.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I like bowling too...and you provided a reasonable explanation as well.

As I actually don't play "other games" outside of my current ones (which I know  very well) theres little value to me.

Maybe one day I'll play something new and it will all make more sense. ;)

The scrolls thing has been changed. The normal scrolls still have the 7 days expiration date, but you now how a choice between regular scrolls and awakened scroll fragments. The latter work like relic shards, and don't start to expire until you combine them into a scroll. The boss they summon is a lot tougher, but the rewards are on par with 5 regular scrolls (which makes sense, since it takes 5 fragments to make one).

There are other ways to make money as well. Clever use of your node empire, life skilling + imperial trading, etc... high level grinding remains the fastest, but if it bores you to tears, you don't HAVE to do it all the time. Or at all aside for gaining levels. I only grind mobs very rarely these days.

Your argument would have a lot more merit if you stop shifting goalposts every time you reply.

How is pointing out that you can make any MMO look low population if you screenshot their server lists in the wee morning hours "shifting goalposts"?

So.. non prime hours is what we're going by now? For a few hours everything was crowded today, at the worst there was 6 overrun channels, 4 of those were Olivia. This weekend is going to be slammed.
It won't last - watch it in the next week, and then another week - the trend will be a noticable decline.

Of course it will not last and it does not need to.

    Black Desert is a success.

I just do not get why you all simply just can not accept it and move on.

How does a nice couch, armor dye, and fancy underwear make you 'leet'? I mean unless you mean the PeenVPeen type game play. No judgement, just wondering if you have a specific item you purchased for that stuff?

    Technically that's just not possible.

The most you could make a week by using your credit card would be around 100 million. And that would be for about $100 dollars.

Since the highest level gear is about one billion each you would be waiting a long time. You could do it but it's going to take you a looooong time.

They are talking about the fact that you can sell the items in the auction house / market for in game gold, which can buy any item in the game pretty much. So yeah it is a possibility to dump tons of money and be PvP viable quite fast. I'm not saying this as someone who hates BDO, I'm currently logged in playing the game, I just know people who have done that. There is a limit though on how much you can sell in a given time I'm pretty sure with cash shop items. I've gotten quite far quite fast without spending anything though.

What was the max amount, I can only find something saying 5 costumes or 10 pets. but that looks like speculation by players prior to the game coming out. I'm fine with the implementation of the system, I've bought quite a few cash shop items with in game money so it's nice for me.

The most expensive 5 items you can sell are costumes, which cost $30 a pop, and sell for about 25 million silver. So at most, $150 a week nets you 125 million gold. As @Sovrath mentioned, you are going to be selling stuff for a loooot of weeks to get that gear.
