Our first appointment at PAX was to sit down with Mass Effect Andromeda and play through a multi-player demo. Initial thoughts were that it would be a PvP battle, however it was more of a survival mode fight against waves of Raiders. You are teamed with three other players to join in and survive the attacks in a set battlefield. Different series of objectives appear throughout, but this scenario was all about firepower.

Sounds like ME3's multiplayer, with jetpacks added.

Hopefully this time they'll just keep it as a fun co-op diversion and not tie it to the SP campaign ending options like they did with ME3.

I imagine they will. They did make some changes to it last time because so many players yelled at them over it lol.

Unless they're completely daft, I'd say message received xD

There's no tie in to the single player campaign other than you can jump from one to the other without leaving your SP game. There only "effect" it has is that multiplayer rewards can benefit you if you play it and earn a reward chest OR, alternatively, if you send out a strike team to finish it. You don't ever have to step foot in multiplayer if you don't  want to.

The mouse & keyboard controls were pretty good in the series, hopefully it will be as good in this one. I liked the new cover system a lot of games are using now and assume it's the same with this one.

When I got to play at a preview event a month or so ago, I used mouse / keyboard and thought they were really well done. They were responsive and seemed natively developed for PC, not like the mess that Dragon Age Inquisition's mouse / keyboard controls at launch.

    Sweet! Thanks, Suzie! :D

That's actually how I'd originally HOPED the MP was going to be back in ME3. I was disappointed to learn that it wasn't then. =/

Mind you, I still enjoyed the MP on that game. I probably have more hours invested in that, than I did in the single player story mode. Ugh, now I'm getting tempted to play it again while waiting for ME-A... >.>

Only 5 days to wait if you're an Origin Access member. You can play up to 10 hours in the preview that starts on the 16th.

I'm normally not a fan of these membership plans but Access is actually a good deal. For $30 CDN per year I get to play a whole pile of full games that I don't own, get a 10% discount on any games I buy and get these little demos and previews like the ME:A one.

Sounds good to me. ME3's multiplayer was a blast. It was short and simple, but ultimately sweet.

I considered getting it, but I don't think I've bought an Origin game since DA:I... which was... two years ago by now? So it's not worth it for me, unfortunately.

It is a pretty sweet deal for those that buy a lot of games though.

And that's exactly what makes it so cool in my eyes.
I couldn't have been more bummed if it were more like DAI's multiplayer - could never get into it, despite actually liking the game a lot :)

I'm interested in the performance aspect, specifically PS4.
