in Auto Assault
Damn, what a horrible game. I can't describe how horrible the game is. On top of that it is totally carebear. I just installed the beta and my goodness. I start the tutorial and the game plays like an ARCADE game. It plays just like one of those arcade games in the mall. The quests are just horrible. The driving is horrible. Everything about this game is just terrible.
What makes it worse is that the game is carebear too. PVP is meaningless there is no point since you don't lose anything when you die. There is just no point to anything in this sorry excuse for a game.
STAY AWAY FROM IT. You have been warned.

I wouldn't worry too much about BP's opinion, it's obvious he's just upset that this isn't a game where he can go around ganking people half his level, or even worse, newbs, and loot their corpse. Just your typical griefer.

I realize BP's opinion may sound rash but you can't just right him off as a ganker or criticizing the length of time he has played it.
If a game doesn't grab you by the gonads after your first time in then it's not necessarily going to get any better the more you play it. In fact, many of the games I have played for long periods of time did have some kind of immediate draw after my very first few times playing it. Thats why game companies make demos so you can sample the basics of the game to see if its something for you.
Auto Assault is obviously something that this player doesn't enjoy and he is just stating that.
Oh, I fully agree, I've stated several times in these and other forums that AA is definitely one of those games you either love or hate. There doesn't seem to be a middleground. My comments about him being a ganker/griefer stemmed from the comments about not being able to loot other players after killing them in PvP. Granted I'm generalizing and making assumptions about BP in particular but most people I've run into over the years who don't like a game because they can't loot other players are the type of people who go out of their way just to make other people's playing experience crappy, aka gankers and griefers.

This game is great to me it is very arcadeish has a Twisted metal feel to it witch i love tons of action its like ur typical mmo combined with a single player action packed console game

Only one i know it isnt is Neocron, where you can safely hold only 1 item in first slot.
Well I agree that the game stinks... But, you really should have a little more meat on your bones than saying "carebear" twice in the same post and complain ye cant grief people.
So... Try to spend two minutes to formulate why the game is bad, not why it doe snto fit your specific minority playstyle

See the first problem of pvp is, that is has to have meaning. Not like roleplay meaning "elfs kill orc" but from economy point of view. It has to be a reason for you to attack someone AND it has to be a reason to be afraid of enemy even then you attack. This is cornerstone of pvp.
Take eve online for instance. If you have any decent ship even with insurance the loss will put you down for quite some time - this is fear of engagement. At the same time, if you engage and win you put enemy down and you migh get some valuable trinkets. Also note that most of the goods are destoryed with your death, so ecnomy has to provide you with new items, which is very imporant.
Now, look at AA - arena style, NO LOSS combat is a joke, not a pvp.
Second cornerstone of pvp - combat itself should be enjoyable, player (human) skill based and leave a lot of options for both sides to win if they do right moves and enemy makes mistakes.
Now what we see in AA? Again a joke. This game is not designed to have combat at all. its a pain, I mean pure pain, to have a car with a gun and engage moving backwards away from the enemy because this is the only way you can see enemy on your screen and shoot at him.
You will find yourself moving in circles with no enemy in actual sight, but his targeted "healthbar" and gun "autotracking" him. And even then you have to click your mouse to death to make gun shooting.
Cars have too much speed with too limited view at any direction and weapon ranges are too short to actually call it a combat.
This is why the original guy got upset:)
Can someone explain what the term “carebear” means in
regards to this game? I’ve seen it mentioned in many of the post about AA. I seen “carebear” used in posts about other
games like EVE online and WoW. Please explain.
I guess I don’t see the point on ripping into a game that is
still in beta. In my opinion Netdevil is bring fresh life to the MMORPG genre.
Yeah, sure they need to add more content to make players feel connected to
their characters. But they are trying something new.
As far as PVP goes, I’m glad there is no death penalty in
this game. The fast paced combat alone will be getting players killed on a
regular basis. I played CoH for over a year and I hated being punished with
debt due to lag issues and/or idiot teammates. Also being “ganked” by other
players in other games gets real old.
MMORPG Resume: WoW, CoH, Guild Wars, SWG, EQ1, Ultima Online, Silk Road Online.
Current Games: Flyff, Maple Story.

AA rocks. It's a new and refreshing why to play an MMO. Don't pay attention to the bantering whines of some high school adolecent with no clue of what they are talking about.
BurningPain IIRC has a reputation is needlessly spamming negativity on the EVE Online forums.
If you don't like it, fine, say your peace and move on.
I am an Eve Online player, and I took part in the Auto Assault Beta.
I tried Auto Assault because I am bored with the Eve Online combat system. Target, get to optimal, orbit, nurse the cap, wait until someone goes pop. In Auto Assault the combat requires far more skill. Ensuring that the target can be hit takes a lot more skill that Eve's limited combat system.
However the penalty for death in Auto Assault is too low. Its like always piloting a sucide Kessie. Straight in there gun blazing, not really caring if you get popped.
I am sticking with Eve just now, hopefully a game will come out that has the instant action appeal of Auto Assault, with the long term depth of Eve.
If you don't like a game and can't say it nicely with some constructive critizism then just keep it to yourself.
i will get it when it comes out.
