While I did spend most of the earlier bits of the game sniping (boring!), I had plans to explore a melee build I was theorycrafting. Thankfully, that build turned out to be as awesome as I’d hoped, and I wanted to share it with all of you this week. Keep in mind, this isn’t a build you can jump into right away. I would suggest you have 84 skill points at a bare minimum to begin exploring this build.

    Really, it's too obvious they are paying you to publish all this information,this is like the 5th big post? Not even a mmorpg. Please move on.

    Basically clicking away text windows ruins every MMO, try to have fun instead of rushing things. Without story and lore all there is left is a bunch of mechanics.

    Yeah. I love it. It has a few flaws, but I still find it epic to play. If you enjoyed the other Mass effect games it is a "must" buy in my opinion.

    Nice write up, Mike. Some great build ideas there.

    Just one comment about the fusion mod... there's an AVP perk in there somewhere (I forget which) that halves the penalty part of fusion mods making them that much more attractive.

    I've been playing on normal as a ranged adept, relying on singularity primers and push and shockwave as detonators but I was thinking of going melee at a higher difficulty for my 2nd playthrough.

    Love the game. Who decided it was failed?
    Almost 9k Apex in multiplayer and 30 hours into the campaign. It is a great ride!

    I really don't understand people like Rensta, all they do is complain about a game they are not playing. So why should I get a rats ass what they think because they haven't or are not playing it? Simple answer I don't and many others don't. So please just move on find a game you like which I doubt one truly exist that doesn't have some issue for people like you.

    Overall for many this game is a blast and articles like this are very much appreciated. Looking forward to the next one myself. Not much of a melee person in this game but might just have to give it a go on next play through.

    Just a quick side note to people, if you are playing a sniper don't snipe out of range or you will not be able to do some quest. The trigger for the script is to kill in range. So if the reticle isn't red don't start killing. Quest lines like Cora's side quest will fail to load on some parts as well as a couple other questlines.

    Agreed.  I went to a melee build from the start and haven't regretted it.  Im really happy they expanded on melee in this game.  There are so many different builds that I'm looking forward to a second playthrough and I'm not even done with the first lol.

    Well yeah, i didn't make any friends here, and i just mostly comment my opinion and move on. Yeah i didn't play the game, but it seems pretty bad. Not even gonna bother.

    I guess, yeah, i mostly post pointless comments here with my low level of English, so it makes sense, but they say there is a role for everyone, so maybe that's my role, I'm not trying to be a troll or whatever,it's just my opinion, i don't know what is gamer gate, maybe i should play the game before having an opinion, but yeah, that's too much, i do enjoy to see the discussions boards alive, and i like to think that even i add to it. I guess i use this site to bitch about things, in reality I'm a very nice guy, but this place lets me just talk badly and harshly about whatever i want, i try not to make things up, or not to over do it.
    I guess i have a personal problem in real life that i should deal with, instead of being nice all the time, maybe it's time i stand up and project my anger at the source, god bless you.

    Or maybe you all are just fan boys who enjoy a watered down version of the great mass effect games.
    Honestly, it's not as good, not even close, yeah i didn't play, but the videos clearly show that.... Maybe you just don't understand, as a stand alone game, this game is fine, but it has mass effect on the title, it should live up to the name, but it didn't, so yeah, like many other mass effect fans, i make sure the company realizes that they have disappointed many people, and hopefully learn from their mistakes.
    Do you honestly want all games to be in mass effect andromeda quality? Honestly? Anyone wants that?
    Even people who play it and enjoyed would say, well the game was ok, but I'd really like a higher quality game.

    If you just accept such buggy releases with such bad animation and emotional presentation.... You are just telling big companies that it's ok.
    So as i said before, the game looks fine as a stand alone... But not as part of the mass effect series.
    Even mass effect one had more emotions in it with the none existing almost animation, i guess the most important thing is the voice acting.
    I don't need to play the game to see that the voice acting seems completely off.
    And again, yes it's a good game, probably better than many others, but we should always expect the best as a consumer, especially with AAA companies using a big name title as mass effect.

    But My impression is from gameplay videos and gathering the opinions of other people around the net.
    Ofc people that bought the game want usually to believe they made a good deal,so they ry to convince themselves its actually not soooo bad....

    I have 60 hours in the game.  I would say I don't need your or anyone else's opinion on the game.  It's a very good game.  The majority of people who dislike or have negative things to say about this game have not played it.  It's becoming a trend now.  Those that actually played it actually are enjoying it with a few that didn't of course.  I can at least respect those that don't like it if they actually played it.

    I'm currently in replay #1 and trying your build... loving the up-close and personal style. It rocks!
