    What? You mean they don't Mo-cap everything? I mean I know I've heard some animators talking about that, but that's not what most people on the Internet say, so they must be wrong. As we know, the Internet is always right.

    Mocap is very very very easy to mess up. But the raw footage won't look weird in-game from one weird mocap, much animation has to be heavily scripted based on what they get from mocap and it's there devs can mess it up. 

    Now some do reshoots when the animation final result ain't good, others apply bandages and try to make it work, it's that time/money factor thingie, it ain't cheap either.
