World of Warcraft News - Blizzard has taken stock of player feedback about the World of Warcraft achievement called "Defender of the Broken Isles". This achievement was part of the "Pathfinder Part 2" achievement that would unlock flying on a player's account. The achievement required players to complete a demonic Assault in each of four regions. The issue came as a result of the "cyclical Assault" schedule that would make them appear at random times for limited duration.

I'm surprised considering that everything is one MASSIVE grind that they aren't asking players to complete 1 million world quests and 50 thousand dungeons in order to allow you to fly and instead are removing requirements to the point where now all you need to do is just get revered with the new rep.

This whole thing was a dumb change in the first place. If you don't want players flying don't give them flying mounts. People are pissed because of all the gold spent for mounts and flying in the first place. This was a major screw up by Blizzard.

I never had anything beyond the basic mount in WoW. I never had enough money at any time I played to get better mounts or the skill when they made the mounts cheap.

We can live with a hard start and many even look back with fondness on those days, but once a player has earned, bought or been given something in a game, you never just take it away and expect us to happily have to jump through hoops to get it back.
