But I guess they have to keep trying....
True sandboxes usually are though. It's the flaw of it
Games pick titles and marketing strategies because they sound cool but don't take into account the type of people that key in to those themes. Plus Devs that selectively enforce policy don't help much. But I do love their videos. They should make a movie.

The biggest problem in EVE as a game is actually finding a good corp, good play mates, and 24/7 active Guild / CORP / Alliance

Me: The flaw of EVE is not that it is a sandbox game. I played EVE originally since beta and that game's flaw is that their devs encourage lawless anarchy inside as well as outside of the game. Anyone who has played EVE for a few years knows exactly what that includes. Anarchy =/= a successful sandbox and CCP's bad leadership & business failures over the years proves it.
EVE's slow downward spiral over the years won't recover though because of the company continuing to run in the red financially, the continuous layoffs, and past studio closings last year. On top of all that, every time CCP tries to be innovative with trying to add avatar content, their spoiled fanbase whines and forces them to cancel that work and stick to the same tired old content they push.
This CGI cinematic only helps to prove that this is as close as CCP will ever come to adding new innovative content because they know their niche fanbase will revolt if they do.

Kyle> If this game closed its doors tomorrow it still would have been one hell of a run.
EVE is arguably the most successful sandbox style game ever made, and you have to give CCP props for that.
Could it have better, perhaps, but its hard to know what the outcome of the road not taken might have been vs the actual reality.
