    *sigh*

If I can be a bit critical for half a second, you are sounding like a broken record. Vendetta Online. Have you tried it? It's been out for mobile for a while now.

I'd say the company behind it is truly invested. For myself, I've currently invested at minimum 1,718 hours into it and those are just the ones the game keeps track of. There are probably at least as many hours that I've spent on the Test Server or otherwise "metagaming" this title. I played yesterday morning.

So... I'll try not to be acerbic, but I've invested conservatively over 3,000 hours into a mobile MMO title you may want to look into regarding your opinion.

Summoners War is as close to a mobile MMO as you can get. It's gameplay is really deep and I'd play it if it was only on PC as well.
Now Playing: Bless / Summoners War
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile

Vendetta is a soloist type game that is like the mini me of Eve only worse.I won't even play Eve because it looks like crap and has very little going for it,so imagine what i think of vendetta.Space games are by far the easiest games to design, they take about 1/10th the effort or less.
I  cant find any video on Summoner's war but on paper it seems ok,having the depth of elemental creatures, but idk  not nearly enough to say if the game is just a typical mobile game or a HQ game.

If Albion online comes out,it will likely be the best mmorpg for a" little while" but even that game is not good enough.I won't even remotely consider playing the PC version so to think the mobile version would be better is a negative that Jim.I would also say ,it is NOT tough to one up every single mobiel game out right now,so yeah it would be an easy win for Albion.

Ok found it on their media resources in You Tube "Summoner's War"...a BIG NOPE,looks like Clash Royale crap but at least with  more depth.

I simply don't understand why people have such low standards for games,do you people know what these or a QUALITY dev studio can actually put out?

Check out Epic Citadel,a map done idk 5 years ago give or take by an Epic games employee,500x better than anything i see people playing.

I stand by what i have been saying, the FFXI reboot will make all these mobile games look like some kids weekend pet project.
Bottom line is that if people are just ADDICTED to buying stuff or goofing around on their phone, just buy anything, they are all 1-2/10 quality games. If your not an addicted phone junkie, just wait for FFXI and get an emulator and play a REAL MMO game.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Well Nexon has some decent MMO's sorta, such as "Heroes OF Incredible Tales" but I left them bad reviews of 1 star on Google play, because all their Mobile games install "XingCode" App on my android phone without asking permission and damaged my SD Card, as well as illegally modified files without asking... I contacted Google they said Nexon violates this policies and they were running an investigation, As well as some Lawyers who might end up taking the case if they don't remove XingCode, and left the info on Google forums about it as well as finally got Nexon to respond and say they would bring it up with the developers of the games So im giving it some months before doing anything.

There are MMO's or rather fighting games such as Kritika The White Knights, but this does the same as Nexon's games with XingCode.

So basically I can't play any of them even though they are good games and I would spend money in them.

https://play.google.com/about/privacy-security/additional-requirements/  IF you look here under Additional Requirements, as well as privacy and security it clearly states they have to notify the customers before it installs XingCode.

Personally I don't care about the small $40 I lost on a SD Card and files damaged I was able to restore and fix because I backup everything, but I care about everyone's privacy, and security and Google Play, is supposed to be a safe place for everyone to download apps, to be listed here Nexon and the other companies need to follow its rules or take them off Google Play.

Talking about games which I currently play on Mobile, these games don't install any additional software, or violate Google's Privacy requirements

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nianticproject.ingress&hl=en  My favorite GPS Based game besides Pokemon go good social game to meet people IRL and have fun.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.machinezone.gow&hl=en  I got bored dropped about $500 into this game got VIP level 40

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tap4fun.reignofwar&hl=en  Not as bad of a game compared to game of war you can compete without spending a lot of money.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.plarium.vikings&hl=en  Another one similar to game of war the cost to play isn't as expensive it seems though haven't played this one much.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zynga.empires2&hl=en
Empire and allies another fun game not Pay 2 win.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.t1gamer.lmcs&hl=en  This one is kinda like "Heroes OF Incredible tales" graphics aren't as great but it doesn't install malware on your phone.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobile.legends&hl=en  League OF Legends based game / MOBA.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.superevilmegacorp.game&hl=en  Vain Glory 3v3 MOBA

I wish both these apps had PC versions they could kinda compete with League OF Legends.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.texas.lottery&hl=en  Oh and before you buy scratch tickets, always check on this APP, not many people do it but it does improve your odds of winning, and General Rule, always but 4-5 of the same ticket lol increases your odds of winning something generally depending on the game played a winner can include $1 as your odds but who knows many people actually buy tickets from the machines before checking and there is only one $100,000 winner in there so its not sold out your chances of winning anything then are extremely unlikely but you throw your $$$ down the tolit, of course you could just RTD, roll the dice though.

I think one reason there aren't very many good MMOs on mobile is that they try to make a PC MMOs on mobile. Hard to do. If they focused on simple gameplay that could make use of touch functions along with classic features there would be more longer lasting and community driven games.

Example. Top down , Tile based , hex based movement , touch combat , 2d sprites , minimal animations ( mainly for particles etc ). Perfect for mobile platform.

No need to push graphics and animations that kill your battery.

It starts out that way, but group PvP is where it's at (unless setting up a virtual business is your thing).

Both came out around the same time, Eve is more widely played. Whether or not it's "worse" depends on what you're looking for in a game, I guess.

I do all my graphic design work on an iPad. All my audio work on an iPad. Writing, blogging, chatting, surfing paying bills, shopping...all on my iPad.

The only thing I use my laptop for is playing games. If Albion pans out, I can liberate myself from the laptop and only have my iPad and iPhone. That would be awesome!

For the same reason no one else is making MMOs. People are tired of the current paradigm, and they're too expensive to make, even on mobile, with the ever dwindling fanbase. By mmo here, I'm of course not talking about lobby games which are becoming more and more one in the same.

There were quite a few mobile MMOs years ago. I remember playing one during breaks at work. Was very much your stereotypical WoW clone. As such, it went the way of most clones.

Do you really want to spend hours hunched over a tiny little screen?  I sure don't.  A pure mobile game is really only viable to play in situations where it isn't practical to have a desktop or even a laptop.  That's fine for things you can play for five minutes at a time here and there and drop immediately if you're interrupted, but group mechanics commonly require longer, contiguous play sessions.

Because not many people would like to play MMORPG on a small screen.

It's less about screen size or screen time, and more about 'I can log in anywhere, anytime, just to check on things or to make progress toward some small goal and have that progress translated to the big screen on PC when I am ready'

RPGMO can be played on mobile.

I ignore app stores because some of the better games are in the middle and you'd never find it unless you know what you are looking for. EG: RPGMO doesn't even appear in the app store.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

While I agree with this sentiment.. I was surprised that some of these mobile MMO's are starting to hold their own. If you find yourself with and injury for a couple of weeks or you decide to support your wife while she's pregnant for a few monthes, bedtime MMO's have their place while you enjoy some games before sleepy.
Happily playing Vanilla and BC WoW, again, since September 2016.

Two questions: Did you pay for anything?  Did you continue to play after those few months?

I know, those damned cash shops in mobile games. That never happens in PC MMOs.

I completely understand the screen size issue.  Given a choice I would always gravitate to the bigger screen.  The bigger screen gives me more of an immersive feeling.  Up until 6 months ago, I had my phone and my laptop.  Playing almost any game on my phone, accept maybe card games like solitaire, hearts, spades or pinochle, was an absolute headache.  Then I got an ipad and that made things certainly easier and while I opened up to playing more mobile games, this brought up new issues for me, graphics and cash cows.  Many of the mobile games had decent stories but their graphics simply can't compare for me when using a laptop or desktop.   Secondly so many of the mobile games are cashcows to the extreme in either you need to pay to play or the cash advantage is extreme.  I get why they do it because people pay and that's how they make money but for me, it s a deal breaker.  Even on regular PC, its a deal breaker.  I have tried and left almost 90% of the MMO games I've ever played because of this issue.  The one thing I will say is I really do like the ipad and completely understand those who play games on it, at least for me, the jump from a phone to an ipad was a huge difference in a good way for gaming.

Albion and Dofus Touch are pretty good mobile mmos. I play both of them actively. Dofus Touch is exactly the same Dofus which you play on the pc but on a different server and Albion is a cross platform game. So both of them are very deep mmos. I love both of them.
  • NanfoodleNanfoodle Member LegendaryPosts: 10,901
Problem with mobile MMO is no one had made one that's made sense. Either content is meant to play 1 to 2 hours at a stretch in a team or is so microtrasactioned it only thought is your wallet. Every part of a game should not be a pay wall.

Deep?  I certainly would not  call Albion deep as it is rather light weight when it comes to MMOs, the same with Dofus.  Secondly playing any of these games on a touch screen is an exercise in futility.  They need to come up with a better interface for these smaller devices because the touch screen just does not work.  Trying to play them on any of the phones even the big ones is a complete joke.
