Combat

I have been looking for a new MMO lately, and Face Of Mankind looks and seems like it is a fun game and has a lot of potential.  The one thing I was worried about was the combat.  When I watched the trailer, all I saw was this chaos of characters running around and shooting in all directions.  Is this how the combat usually plays out in this game?

the combat has a shooter interface, so its not  clicking on the enemy, and pushing hotkeys like in other mmorpgs ;)

Are the weapons accrate and powerful like other FPS?  UT, Quake, etc.  or weak and shoot everywhere but where you aim like Planetside?  Thanks much.

This post is intentionally written as to not make any sense what so ever. Thank You Very Much.

It all depends what you are using.  A pistol is going to take a long time.
The assault rifles, at top quality and best type of bullets can take an opponent down quickly if they only have armour.
More experienced players pack medkits to heal themselves while fighting.
Fully equipped players fighting each other can be a lengthy process.

It really depends on your load out.

Well it an FPS on that part with it own twist. Initial combat is chaotic yet, but that is where the skill kick in to be able to have this chaos without  hitting you friendlies and if you really play this game you find out that it not as chaotic as it seems, in matter of fact it the best way to fight. Beside that the game know a lot o tactic, starting with choise the place to fight, especialy as the defencive force in an conflict you have the change of choicing you battles.

If you join for battles I recomand you join either the BoS or FDC two combat orientated groups. I also belive they are both equaly matched.

The games a Real Time Shooter. This isnt a WoW or GW type fighting, those get repetitive, and this game actually requires some skill to fight.

I know the trailer shows lots of chaotic fighting... it can be like that, sometimes its organized. BoS, MotB, and FDC fight alot on this game. Learn from them and you will do fine.

The game needs MUCH more content ... its really too empty, if you think bout it ... all you can do is talk in empty environments ( its like the environments are toally .. DEAD you knowW?? ) and you can kill perps but gets uber boring after a while  .. well now they implemented turrets, radar, etc .. They royally .....ed the game up

If the world would actually be ALIVE, people would like it way better, an interactive world .. not some places with stupid idiotic NPCs walking around with the face of sean connery

Sorry, but then I really wonder where you have been. There had been an actual trail today in the game. It has been done roleplay wise. Even though everyone know he was guilty he got released duo to the work of his lawyers.

The content is RP created. Only your imagination can set the limits. Which works very good as every faction has RP created rules.

There is no computer generated content (kill 5 sheeps and come back to npc)...
If you like that kind of game theres plenty of other games to go around...

yea, this game is strictly player based except for the autogenerated trader missions... otherwise, you need to find when your faction members are online or get friends to play and fill the world.

Honestly one cannot even attempt to apply the word "tactic" to Face of Mankind's combat system.  It's all dancing (running in circles while fighting your opponent) and bunny hopping in an MMO.  Crouching in FOM is instant death (due to the player hit box location) and med tanking just makes it near impossible to compete until you have enough cash to do so yourself.  This isn't even mentioning the multitudes of bugs which give players advantages by exploiting said bugs.  Essentially this is Duke Nukem (original) with a quasi turn-based/FPS action.

If FPS is what you want than go hit up the mounds of FPS games out on the market as these are far better choices compared to FOM.  In time it's possible that the game will become better; however, if it's combat you're looking for you'll find yourself wondering what's the point after a few hours.  No skill improvements to your characters as you progress, all weapons are basically the same much like armor and an environment (maps) that are on the scale of most FPS games.

you obviously don't know what content means?! CONTENT is NOT quests.
