Microsoft is trying to expand and update their platform. The XB1 being a true media center and gaming platform with full Windows integration is where they want to go I think.

You can watch movies in the BD-Player or Stream them through your favorite service. It doesn't have an Amazon Music app yet, but that's about it. It does Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, Sling, YouTube, Groove, Spotify, and MS Store.

If it can pull off VR with something better than Gear VR and not quite as heavy duty as Vive or Rift, then that will be a huge plus in its favor.

Playing games is a plus but not the only selling point. That you can play popular games on both your PC and console and use the same controller between both is a big selling point.
Microsoft VR is just around the corner. We'll see how good it is against the competition pretty soon.

If its able to also run all the PC vr titles that exist now, that's quite an advantage as far as vr goes.
given Microsofts past in gaming over the past 20 years I am not very optimistic but I am optimistic that they will market the shit out of it making many people believe its amazing like Windows 10 gaming
Microsoft did a hell of a lot for gaming back when Bill ran the show, or should I say Bill did a hell of a lot for gaming.
and he hasnt been around for about nearly 20 years and given MS current track record going back about 10 years I dont see any evidence to suggest why people would default to thinking this one is going to be a big deal in the positive.
Doesn't personally mean fuck all to me, but if people can buy a system for 1/2 the price I pay for my video cards, play good games and get enjoyment from it, its a good thing.

Not everyone can afford a gaming PC.
its as if you didnt read a single word I wrote. Where does the DEFAULT ASSUMPTION part come into play?

Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

Please do not respond to me

    I own a ps4 pro and an xb1.

I will probably trade in my old xb1 for a scorpio. Just like I did for ps pro.

shesh, i will do that on every scorpio post i see now... blame MS for the name!

    Scorpio!
He'll sting you with his dreams of power and wealth.
    Beware of Scorpio!

His twisted twin obsessions are his plot to rule the world
    And his employees' health.
He'll welcome you into his lair
Like the nobleman welcomes his guest

With free dental care and a stock plan that helps you invest!
But beware of his generous pensions
Plus three weeks paid vacation each year
And on Fridays, the lunchroom serves hot dogs and burgers and beer!
    He loves German beer!

I hate the Sony UI and the store layout. I'd like it if Xbox actually would compete. But it comes down to games. If all the good first party X1 games really do go to pc, I have no reason for a scorpio. This in itself is an issue as there have hardly been any note worthy X1 games. Microsoft needs to step it up with new IPs or they'll be looking up at both sony and nintendo.

I probably end up buying the Scorpio, as I still need a 4K bluray player. :)

Well at least it would still be able to play Xbox One and 360 games.
