Well! Seems like reddit is behind us on this one. We've already shown how it is absolutely, categorically, not a pyramid scheme. It's one layer of referrals. Fuck, it's not even a multi-layer affiliate program, lol. You make a total of $0 beyond your first layer of referrals. That is, by definition, NOT a pyramid scheme. People really need to educate themselves. Shoot, you don't even need to go beyond Google to figure this one out.

Not in my experience. There have been a number of projects that people were just fawning over.
I guess it depends on which crowd you're talking about. There seems to be a rather large contingent that simply views every single project as some form of nefarious scheme.

I am very interested in the international problem MLM created; I'm interested in Brazilian commerce in general. I'm not "defending" MLM (I wasn't aware it required a defense), I just understand the difference between it and a pyramid scheme.

There's just as much to look at that says it would be a horrible scheme. First there's the trail left behind in promises (refund promises at that), videos, some of which they star in... Then there's the small amount sought to split between how many people? One of which is already rich... who knows about the others. There's plenty of evidence to use against them if they were to scam folks of their money.
Most actual scammers aren't so brazen with their identities. Especially when it comes to the core group operating the endeavor.
Unless they're in for a very elaborate long game and show, it's really not a good plan, the longer they run such a scheme the more risk that is involved. It's also not an amount sought that justifies such a risk as far as I can see..

Sooooooo, the person said this THIS game is nothing but a pyramid scheme. Is that what you're claiming? So you're saying that the Ashes of Creation referral program is a pyramid scheme? Or are you taking issue with the fact that person funding it doesn't align with your moral values? These are two distinctly different things. One is subjective and one is anything BUT subjective.
