Races, and gods.

I just did a google check and the stuff is old, but I am gonna assume that it is the same. I thought I would ask here, while I wait a hour more for the download. It looks like race and god doesn't matter in the slightest, and basically they are just cosmetic choices?

Yep, the difference of each races starter stats dont matter at engame or at all. the gods is purely cosmetic i never found a use to them yet.

The birthday and such are mainly for fluff; the actual subraces have differences in size, ear placement / length, naming conventions, etc.

The naming conventions are relatively robust:  Each race and their subraces name their offspring in different ways, and some even have their own languages that are actually written out.

Just like most of the things in the game, it is fairly complex -- so if you want to have a name that follows the lore, then you should peruse the above.

You'll notice some NPCs in game that have really odd names, as well... with some even remarking that they made no effort in making those names or they hit their head on the keyboard.  Though they follow the rules of the naming conventions and the secret languages, and actually do mean something.  The game is fantastic at small little details.
Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing).  German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century.  Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now).  I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things).  In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while.  If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.

Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this.  If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own.  Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis.  Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.

You can also make a cat girl and name her NekoDesuWa and run around screaming "Suigoi!!! Nya!" all the time.
