The purpose wasn't to compare the MMO to the RPG or make any judgment about the game play experience especially since it only is visuals + music. It was made for the express purpose to compare familiar locations from one to the other.

    For Pete's sake.

I like the original visual better namely because of the sky color brings everything in a bit better in my view

This has got to be one of the weirdest closed beta NDAs ever. It's not just gaming sites like this that are exempt from the NDA but many youtubers can and have applied for exemptions and can post videos with intimate details of the Warden, videos of Vvardenfell or whatever they wish. Meanwhile the players playing on the PTS... crickets.

Funny how not a lot of negatives are being highlighted. Maybe there just aren't any, you think?

Way to control the message ZOS!

I like the original better as well as there is a sort of isolated "lonely"/poignant feel to it all.

I'm on the fence with some of the architectural changes. On one hand they did an amazing job at the inside of Vivec but on the other hand I didn't think they needed to change the outside (for example).

Agree 100% about NDA with @Iselin.

its sort of sad how archaic their NDA practices are.

This is one of those decisions that is driven hard from the top, as I know the emplyees of ZOS are very much against the NDA

its the Zenimax culture is what it seems to be, one of protectionism and insecurity rather than one of optimism and innovation. Everything they do has an orbit around it of fear (and insecurity) on their part

Yep comparing graphics that are 15 years apart.... Morrowind from 2002 actually holds up pretty well.

Now with mods it actually looks ton better, the real differentiator is obviously depth of gameplay which IMO Morrowind wins hands down, but its not really fair to compare it to a MMO.

Dammit, I was all primed, and had just formulated how I was gonna point this out, and YOU BEAT ME TO EEEET, first post even, GG =P

It's easy to hold well against a game which is like 6+ years behind current trends. Characters in TESO are much, much worse than toons in EVE for example - and EVE:Incarna was released 6 years ago. In fact they are so fugly that I cannot force myself to play the game even though I like ESO universe more than any other game universe (except StarWars maybe).

    Thank you for your time!

Was going to say, it is easy to look well against an MMO that uses very old graphic techniques and low resolution models. Compare it to a MMO like Tera that graphically looks stunning it is easy to see how much garbage both look. That said Morrowind holds a special place in my heart it is cool to see it updated, however I think some of the updates particularly redesign of temples and towns look worse than the old game. Not graphically but asset wise the choices are odd or add too much flare to take away the atmosphere that was once there.
