Why would CC'ing an opponent "forever" be a good thing for any pvp? If you are excited about that being a new feature enjoy playing with yourself and about 10 of your friends.

You are correct, I didn't hear the word "reduction" and I agree, that is a shame.

Well according the video poster, it's "amazing" that you can do that. Which really sums up the mindset of modern mmo pvp.

It's a shame that this is something they are testing, I hope they don't go ahead with it.

Normally being totally stunlocked is a no go, really allows no chance to counter unless the attacker misses their combos?
If they kept it on a separate server as was mentioned being how it is currently being done in Korea would probably be fine but they should not put this on the current servers.

I think this is in fact the real game changer in this test. A move to PvP and PvE servers. Node servers or Server 1's will become PvP and the rest will be PvE.
Hate the new changes even if I played it I hope they add PVP Specific rulesets rather than screw over those who like the Hard-Core you get downed ur f***ed kinda thing.
Even if I played BDO or continue to play with XingCode I wouldn't like these changes, and the housing is just awful compared to what it could have been.

That was the eventual downfall in Warhammers PVP...After level 20 or so if you were melee you spent about 90% of the time CCd and couldnt do squat.....THis is the problem with games that try so hard to cater to both the PVE and PVP crowds.

If they fixed the worst pvp issues and reenable open world pvp penality on pvp servers, that might be a good thing for players that enjoy open world pvp over that boring instance crap.

Completely agree with it. I remember when in Lineage II I could stunlock almost any opponent with my warsmith and my golem took it's sweet time to make kill. IMO continued CC is the wost thing in 'PvP' there is. That basically gives it back to all the (hidden) numbers that BDO has and you have no escape from it whatsoever.
Wasn't that what Healer class from Midgard had those stuns
Pac/Mend healers couldn't kill anything solo, but could lock down whole groups with good timing. CC breaks and diminishing returns were a huge part of DAoC's combat though. I'm not terribly concerned, I've been involved in non-consensual pvp I think 3 times since launch. If they turn pvp into who gets the first move in wins, things will be changing for the worse.

They did eventually fix it but for many months after the original release of DAoC the CC was way over the top. Midgard's nickname of "Stungard" was not earned for nothing. But that was nearly 15 years ago. Most developers have learned that lesson.
