in Landmark
Hello everyone. I really enjoy builder games, and landmark had been one of the best game EVER for building. To keep things short I would like create a game with very similar aspects. I have started a go fund me page for this. I like to bring back that joy into my life and once started, if unable to complete, will happily hand over any progress to the public. The reason for that is because if i can't do it then I want someone else to, the joy of having such a game is something i VERY much want to see. If something like this has already started then I ask you to provided the details as i would fund it in a heartbeat. Thank in advance for any support, even if it's just sharing this goal of mine.

    But the game flopped and died, man...I'm not discounting the experience you had playing it, but it doesn't seem that many others share your view.

    yes it did die, but not because the people playing didn't like. It shut down because of poor management and a company making a quick buck.

    You're going to take a failed effort and creating a game on an AAA budget, and then remake it yourself for $500k?  Have you ever programmed anything in your life?

    Here ya go OP ..............get behind this one ..     Novus Inceptio ..

      And i have played all these types of games alot , and this one has the deepest and most well thought out Survival /Gathering /Building of them all imo ....Huge update coming anyday now also that the community is pretty excited about ...

    and thank you all for your input, I'm glad i'm finally getting some! even if it's not the responses I was looking for, at least I know public opinion on this which was a key part of why I posted here.

    It boils down to having to get started and showing people that you can pull it off before asking them for their hard earned money.

    It would actually be much more convincing if you had started out with "I am an experienced project leader" or even "I am willing to invest XY of my own money upfront".
    Now that would up your chances considerably.

    You have to admit that it currently looks like a random person with no credentials whatsoever wants to toy with an extremely expensive idea he isn't really committed to, and we should all pay for it and carry all the risk.
    No surprise people didn't react too well.

    Up the ante and turn it around! :)

    I think you are going to have to do more than that. Your going to have to put together a team, advertise what they have done, what games they have actually brought to market to show that spending the money on your effort isn't a waste.

       I really like it , and really looking forward to the new build coming 5/19....Its a HUGE update ..

    Landmark was just a test game for SOE, to test mechanics for EQNext. After EQNext was killed off, it was just a matter of time Landmark was killed off too.  There are too many builder games already out there.
