Looks awesome! Very CoH (which is good).

    But what's "classesses "?
  • AlpiusAlpius Member UncommonPosts: 247
Seems to be a good start, but there is a long way to go. The textures need some work and everything seems to suffer from the same problem STO had, environment is too big. The animations are better than I thought they were going to be, still a little stiff.

Well, I'm still really looking forward to it. Hope it works out.

    Coh is that u? :p

the zone looks big , maybe too big for a simple mission dungeon (more like group dungeon ) but i guess is big because we will able to flight, superspeed and whatnot....i hope they copy the Coh Teleport power , was awesome :D (not like champions online that teleport power sucks )

Awwww man it looks rough. I wouldn't be releasing footage at this stage if I were them... assuming this is VERY alpha and it's going to improve. They need to take a step back, work on the game and stop trying to work on marketing until it's looking a lot better. Only a small percentage of the audience will forgive this for being early footage.

Maybe you didn't watch it? In the video, they say they hope to start alpha at the end of 2017. So they are not currently in alpha.

Much better than watching a "cinematic" in-game footage and classifying it as "Pre-Alpha."

For not even being in Alpha its doesnt look to bad at all, that environment wasnt too bad, the characters got me the most. But overall, its really coming along. It always helps not to be a graphics snob either.

Needs a "medals" system. That's what kept me going, especially the first CoH Hamidon raid where we stared at our frozen screen pressing buttons, hoping for the best, just for dem medals.

I never cared about the medals, although some of the exploration ones were interesting and/or funny. I also don't care about high-level graphics. I'm more concerned that the pre-set, "theme park" missions approach is going to be too old hat to compete with the next generation of games that come out. If it's free or moderately priced and I can hop in, team up, play a quick mission or a few, and call it quits, I'll play it even if it's not much more than what we just saw. Just hoping for more so it will get others to play and keep running. The more advanced stuff you want, the longer and more seriously you want to play it, the more you should expect to pay for it.

I'm hoping they will have procedurally-generated missions, with algorithms based on the area of the ship, number of players, powers of the heroes, etc. And it shouldn't take too much to have some good basic AI involved. A little bit of that stuff can go a long way to making good immersion and gameplay.

OH yes, and things to do besides killing badguys and healing team members!

Same thing applies really though doesn't it? They are showing too much too early.

Still rough, but looks good... this (and a lot more) is what they needed before going anywhere near kickstarter.

I'd be interested to know if there really will be a problem with people seeing these and being turned off because they are too crude yet. Aren't most gamers (those who would be following the news about games and seeing these, at any rate) fairly well educated and sophisticated about the stages of game development? I, for one, enjoy alpha testing, even. Not everybody loses interest over poor graphics and clunky animations.
