Morrowind is back, people. And while fans of the now aging third entry into the Elder Scrolls main series may find ESO’s version of Vvardenfell quite different, that’s kind of the point. Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is 15th anniversary celebration of the original game. It’s homage to the title that helped make The Elder Scrolls a gaming icon. It’s also a self-contained story or “chapter” added to ESO. And so far, it’s been a very good time indeed.

I don't get excited for mmo's very much these days, but I am looking forward to giving this a try.

Well worth the monthly price for crafting bag and some coins for costumes, dyes, etc. The new area is definitely lovely so far. Having fun as well Bill!

Looks great so far. Haven't played much though. I'm doing a nostalgia romp through EQ II.

I'm just glad they added notifications for weapon charges and poison charges to settings. That alone makes me very happy. I don't need an add on for it any more.

they changed a lot with this update IE in order to get armor skill line you need to equip 3 or more of the armor type and the skill line opens. Cleans up the UI a little bit when you don't see skills you didn't actually put points into in the menu. DID I MENTION THE MUSIC? top 3 game soundtracks here..A+ on the music department.
Also Warden is cool but its OP. FYI

I know I'm not the only one who got off the boat and tried to find the tree stump :P And then Vivec City. Very interesting so far. Pulled me away from my Thieves guild quests. Certainly FEELS like the game did from sheesh 15 years ago.

I actually went looking for it. Found a stump on the island facing the opposite side of the boat. No skooma. :-(

Is everyone rolling a new warden? I'm thinking about rolling a breton templar but all my other classes are magicka based and I sort of want to try a viable stamina based class. So I'm still trying to sketch out the character concept.

I rolled one this afternoon and played for about an hour. Way overpowered. Cutting through mobs like they're not even there. I'll probably just delete the toon and reroll something less boring.

Just what did you do in that one hour to make you feel like the Warden is OP?

And @Torval we don't know how much DPS was added because the patch notes yesterday, although they are 3.05 did not show changes from 3.04. The magicka warden I'm leveling feels about the same as on the PTS to me: it still feels like it needs some extra oomph when you're trying to burn down 4-man dungeon bosses or world bosses.

I'm enjoying the Warden a lot. Don't know about PvP but PvE is great.

Haven't played all that much but the combat changes seem positive even if some people complain a lot. Overland mobs are still a bit of a joke but I actually died once to a quest boss, despite knowing the game well! The Warden seems slightly underpowered if anything.

As far as story, quests and the zone itself they are really good for MMO standards.

Everyone needs to stop comparing this to ESIII. Morrowind, the game.. is an epic RPG that can take 100s of hours. Morrowind, the DLC... is a quest zone that will take an experienced player about 18 hours.

Not much else to say. Dive and Frost Cloak plus the bow from the starter box in my inventory and it's basically 1-2-1-2-dead. Level 3 and I'm taking out 3-4 mobs at a time without dying? Still wearing rags and I haven't even distributed CP yet.

The most boring class I've ever played in any MMO, hands down. The only way you could make this class exciting is if you stood there and let a mob beat up on you until you had 5% health left and then started fighting. Probably still win the fight. Sad..

If someone got creative and really thought about it, I'm sure they could come up with something that more players would be interested in.

I mean seriously, you have a pet that fights for you 24/7? Um, no.

I would expect a real "beast master" to have the ability to charm wild animals to do their bidding, sometimes successfully and sometimes not.  Bring the possibility of the animal to break the charm and turn on you into the mix and it would at least be more interesting and challenging to play.

Obviously that's a way to go. I have no problem with the whole "Beastmaster" thing but I've never been into that archetype. Same with Druids, never found that interesting. Nor rangers for that matter.

Its the same with all classes, for example the templar's puncturing strikes is even stronger/more faceroll.

Good article. I've only been playing ESO for about a month now so I'm not going to purchase Morrowind just yet. I don't PvP & Morrowind doesn't really add anything of interest for me immediately. I haven't nor am currently subscribed, but they did add a couple more perks to being a subscriber, a good thing, so I'll have to definitely review & reconsider that option. This game certainly has many MANY options about what you can do from day to day. I'm not even to the CP-160 mark yet & am already finding it a bit repetitive since I'm trying to level at a pace similar to other players & that seems to be the next tier after level 50 & when gear ceases leveling as well. Maybe after that achievement I can relax & enjoy the game more instead of it feeling like a grind-fest. There are already a huge saturation of Wardens everywhere & there's a bit of controversy about whether the other classes got "nerfed" right before release to coerce the Warden's appeal too.
