The Striker lands today in Black Desert Online. The latest new class to hit the game, he focuses on using his fists and feet as his weapons of choice. He’s basically like Ken or Ryu from Street Fighter and that’s just awesome. We caught up with Pearl Abyss’ JH Kim to ask him about the class and what’s next for BDO.

So basically you want them to break the law and risk their licence to run the game in the NA/EU regions, the game is opening up to other regions, but just not with Kakao, perhaps they couldn't afford to buy the licence for those regions.
But if you are really that upset about it, then why not move to either a European country, or to North America? oh what its somebody elses fault because you live in the wrong area?  :p

I would buy the game, but IP lock killed it for me and yeah I could play on the brazilian server, but if I can't play with friends I prefer not to play, besides most of latin servers end up going down hill.

Might as well give it a try since there is a new class. Tried it ages ago.

BDO team does "not get it".or maybe they have a fanbase that wants exactly what the yare or are not delivering.
Adding a class would do nothing to re-interest me,just way too many poor design decisions that bothered me.

The BIGGER picture is that like most poorly designed games,it has about 2-3 months worth of rpg/gameplay then it is like so many, nothing but an end game ...game and no more a rpg.

I mentioned in another thread that personally ,i am looking for a long term quality mmorpg. As well i actually detest end game anything,it suppose ot be a role playing game, that means the experience never ends but simple nodes and end game pvp is nothing what a rpg should be.So yeah, they don't get it or understand the very basic core of what a rpg should represent,it is just a mish mash of ideas that mimic a mmorpg and worse is some are automated so again ,,,bah i say.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Instead of wishing them to Break the law how about wishing them to publish something without region lock and the best publisher will succeed and people would be able to choose their favorite "version" published of the game.

I'll have to deal with Red Fox publishing it on Brazil with dollar prices (whathefuck?!) I would rather play with higher MS but with people I know in a space I'll enjoy. I don't want the game in portuguese, I don't want to play with brazilians... Let me chose my optimal experience.

Edit: Just found out the Brazilian version servers are in Miami. So not even an optimal ms we'll get. This actually should be illegal.
You do know that Pearl Abyss are the ones who actually own the game right? Kakao purchased the licence to operate the game in the NA/EU regions, although i do understand your pain, while i reside in the UK, the NA servers are my preferred choice of server, this must give me some kind of latency 'handicap'  but even so its not that noticeable, outside of PVP at least, and as i don't engage in PVP all that often i can't really say if its much of a factor with any certainty. :|

Always amazes me, with your comment I sure hope your working towards being a game developer so you can change said things above in gaming RPG'so. Be real you can't have endless story lines. Even in real life stories end. Expansions extend the story and you can continue. IF YOU have gone through EVERYTHING BDO has to offer in 3 months then you must have gamed 24/7 straight. Are you Guru in all professions and own all top gear in game for EVERY CLASS. Highly doubt it. Fine you don't like the game but it is a good one. And I wait to see your EPIC MMORPG in the future.

Who says they need to sell 5000? Now you make up your own number of what they need to sell?

STEAM is not another country that has not had access to Black Desert.

The game is one of the top sellers on STEAM so just stop with the hate. All versions of the game are selling.

Black Desert beat you and all the other haters. Just give it up. It did just like we said it would. Be better and more successful than fail ArcheAge.

Go to the official forums and ask.

Go to Black Desert sub Reddit

Go check out Twitch and see what the streamers and viewers are saying. Feel free to ask any questions.

    Check out YouTube videos.

And my favorite of them all,

Log on and find out. Black Desert has a free trial so no excuses.

Black Desert launched in Korea. Since then the game has went on to launch in US, Russia, China, Japan, Taiwain and soon South America.

Also console versions have just been announced.

Black Desert destroyed the haters just like we said it would. It proves everyday that the haters are not needed in games and they belong floating around on forums mad at others who are enjoying games just because they simply do not have anything to play.

Now back to my Striker. :)
  • AkulasAkulas Member RarePosts: 3,029
I think they made the 1-50 experience alot easier so I just literally used the same skill and do a chuck norris styled attack. I actually don't know how to play the striker or maybe I'm playing it as intended. Yep, the poor design choices are still there. (lots of afk skills too) I might as well finish up the main story and be done with it. Good time waster for the weekend but nothing more.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

Until they get rid of things like no player to player trading, this game will not break its low population issues.

How do you make a game built around the idea that you can create a trade empire and allow no trading...they can make all the claims they want about killing gold trading companies but they actually killed the game instead while gold trading companies are still there offering power leveling and offering to get players end game items for them. There are entire guilds of decked out players being played by those companies that will take your character with their characters and get you boss items...

So, game still has them while having a low player base on top of it!

Open up player trading, keep the marketplace with FIXED selling amounts and you will keep the market prices down while opening the game up to more players...not to mention allow guilds to actually support their own people increasing that aspect of the game as well.

Oh noes, it has the word crowded by the server name, guess that means the game is popular even though the players are talking about the low population...

There are zero metrics available to go on with their use of the word crowded...all there is, is actual visuals of players while playing and every company goes out of their way to make sure no one has anything to actually go on anymore which is why there are no longer any sites that track MMO populations like there used to be. Companies dont even release sales numbers anymore and many like EA even go out of their way to hide numbers from their own investors during quarterly reports.

Person really wants to see something yet amazingly remain oblivious to it.

Simple search, "BDO low population" or "BDO player count" will lead to a bunch of topics on their main forums, to reddits and even youtube videos with players talking about it and how Guam fluffs their numbers and many more trying to make 150k players sound like its a lot for a PvP based game.

Oh, and thats 150k spread out over around 40 servers.

    Ok, just like I thought.

So now I need to search for something you said when all you have to do is post where you got low population from.

You can even go right over to the Black Desert forum on this site and see if people are talking about low population.
