We thought another article would be appropriate for the latest big balance patch to hit Guild Wars 2. This month’s patch saw some of the biggest shake ups to come from the more recent cycle of balancing, giving way to older, less utilized skills and traits and hitting some of the big players. Across the game modes new builds emerged for almost every class in at least one game mode as the condition damage meta continued its steady rise to power (pun intended).

I just can't get back into this game...Got a few 80s then logged off one day and never logged back in lol. Kind of the same with Tera as well after getting a few to cap.

How about actually making the Healing Trait Specialization on Revenant actually useful? I was hyped for the class because of the Tank and Healer Specializations, but they both suck worst than some of the other new Elite Specs added to the game in HoT such as Healer Druid.

Exactly, especially since the cap was at 20 but with all the skills and stuff you had almost endless progression on a single toon.

There is progression after level 80, it's just not the kind YOU want.

The healing aspect of the Revenant would have to be buffed to an absurd degree to even be competitive, so long as it is tied to an awkward, gimmicky Ventari tablet. Revenant healing is not fun, intuitive, fluid, or reliable.

I had some great fun with this game at launch in WvW for several months before the lack of progression and repetitiveness bored me. I've tried to get back into several times over the years, but always found it lacking any "compelling" features to draw me in. Definitely was never pleased as the sequel to GW1, I expected much more.

If only there was more character progression after 80, I would keep playing. But I guess since they don't have a sub, it doesn't much matter to them if I play a not.

The game gives you lvl 80 characters. If you haven't logged on for awhile go and see for yourself. There is still achievements there to do if you done all your masteries or w/e it was we did to still progress after 80. The game caters as an in between game for some and it costs nothing to get into. It's a good game for what it is.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

This is not a bad balance patch...It has added some nice possibilities for the PvE meta. Like alternative to PS builds. I really hope that some of these changes want to take into account the new Elites that will be coming with the expansion.

PS. I love how few people in the comments talk about completely irrelevant things to the game balance that the article is about. How desperate are some people to be heard about how much they like and do not like a game?

This article is inaccurate in at least one respect. The "buffs" given to Mesmer grant might to phantasms. The trouble is that Phantasms cannot be buffed. So, that "buff" to Mesmer is designed not to work from the outset.

It is not reassuring to see the Devs making a coding error like that.
