Where will the legendary system go next expansion?
Hopefully in the trashcan.
You're not excited for having every piece on your class equipped with a legendary???? Neither am I tbh...I dont have anything against Ion but every time he boasts about stuff it doesn't do so hot. He was confident people would love garrisons and ashran in WoD....look how those went. Same with legion, people would love world questing and the artifact system....It makes me question sometimes if they really understood why people liked WoD around the WotLK era and before (I personally liked Cata more).
@Albatroes - Tbh the artifact system wasn't a bad idea, BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT it shouldn't have been released in it's current form.
Perhaps if you unlocked the traits for all your characters(or at least all the specs for 1 character) things would've been different, but with it's current state it's just farming and to what end??So what when you have max trait weapon when there is barely anything else to do...
I hope they go back to how things were in previous expansions. To be honest getting your weapon from a raid/dungeon/pvp has always been an exciting moment and now... that's gone because you get your weapon before you even start actually leveling in the new zones.
I was lucky to be a holy priest in WoW Vanilla and unlucky enough that we only had hunter items drop from the chest in Molten Core. I didn't had to spend much DKP in MC or BWL and when the first Splinter dropped in Naxx 40, I had 2x the DPK saved over any other staff wielder. How special I felt, it meant that a lot of my fellow guildies never got the chance to get the same legendary item while they had spent and would spend equal amounts of time.
The RNG drops of Legion can be frustrating. At least everyone can get Legendary items and not some no life kid who saved up all DKP and managed to talk his way into a hardcore raiding guild. I would prefer an legendary questline, combined with crafting and harvesting, but I've noticed when returning to Legion, most players don't like questing.

Please no, don't do like in GW2, it is trash and boring, crafting + harvesting is the most boring shit in games, this is time consuming for doing slave work

It's more like the Elementium Bars you need for Thunderfury. You do not have to be a crafter, you can ask/pay someone to craft it for you. Once you get the items required your quest line continues. I'm a fan of player interaction and trading always can use some stimulation.
I agree in GW2 it was kinda boring to get all those materials, but I remember being in farm trains which resulted in some nice interaction with other players.
most of the prior legendary items were limited to a few per server if that. They also did not give a major advantage in raids either . Only the rings from the prior expansion were more common. Lot of good all that grinding did for them, those rings are useless now.
That is exactly what will happen in the next expansion, all that grinding for nothing. Wow is becoming what it's eastern competition has always been. Big equipment grind until the level limit is raised and then starting from scratch again.
Bring back the long quests&raids&very rare mats to craft/have a Legendary , and then people will bitch that it's to hard to get one. They will see only the hardcore's wearing Legendary's and they will go crazy QQ-ing.
So no. This, while it's ... not a GOOD system , it's somehow best yet .
If I would be Blizzard, I would have a VERY VERY HARD time , figuring it out, what it's the best system to get Legendary's , because trust me , whatever system they come up with, there will be lots and lots of QQ-ing.
Reporter: What's behind Blizzard success, and how do you make your gamers happy? Blizzard Boss: Making gamers happy is not my concern, making money.. yes!
Probably farming tokens or RNG. Make legendaries actual legendaries as in only 1 type of the given can exist at any given time like only for a week before it disapears and make it a big deal when somebody gets one with an open world event.
Horrible, again a deathstab to the true meaning of an mmorpg. Wow vanilla I am happy I have experienced it Just change the names already in "legion"randomcommon. Thx

Yeah it was exciting when you are in a raiding guild, and don't get me wrong raiding is awesome, but I want much smaller group content, these days I just can't really fanthom being online at X time and Y times a week with a bunch of people I dont really care much about other than raiding.
I think smaller group content is the way to go, I don't mind if they make crazy hard content but that can be achieved with maybe 5 players tops, dungeons/5man raids/hard quests/achievements whatever, something I can do with my close friends when we feel like rather than a second job at our own pace.
I really liked vanilla when some of the dungeon stuff was pretty much the raid quality loot and there was so much diversity and you got to get it by doing it with 4 other people.
I think Everquest was the only game I got an epic weapon in. After that I had toned down my MMORPG time as it was very bad in terms of obsession in my EQ days so I never tried for a legendary by the time WoW cam about. I can see the merits for each but I feel it should be an undertaking where guilds are involved and should be long and worth getting.

I do not see much different from getting a weapon in a raid as opposed to getting a relic to upgrade your weapon in a raid.

Days of WoW requiring guilds for stuff is pretty much over. Smaller group content/solo content is the future of MMORPG's for the time being.
There are blues that drop in Timewalking dungeons that are better than the epics normally dropped from Broken Shore. Legiondaries are the "epic" quality of Vanilla and epics are the "rare" quality of Vanilla. We really have no analogous quality to the Vanilla "legendary" items anymore. The only difference is that, in Legion, you can only wear two Legiondaries and in Vanilla you could wear all epics.

This is why the current system is fine, it just needs some tweaking. Most classes have a couple legendary items which result in a noticeable damage increase while the other legendaries are essentially stat sticks. If that's balanced a bit better there will be less whining.
The problem with WoW is people spent over a decade now chasing carrots ... and really nothing but screenshots to show for it.
Next expansion? Same purple to green to blue to purple grind again.
Why not just have gear upgrades and let the tradeskills upgrade it each expansion? So to have something to do with tradeskills than what it became?
Otherwise, the formula got old 7 years ago.
It's hard to stay in the game to play when there's plenty to do if you're a bot, but the human is gated by time AND RNG.
It's like don't buy the game until the last 6 months of the 2 year expansion even, so not to waste your time. By then things are 10x easier to do and you saved a years worth of headaches and bugs (let alone saved a year's worth of grinding for tokens or over $150 in sub fees).

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

Now neither of them really mean anything.
