WildStar News - WildStar will be updated later today with patch v1.7.2 that brings Prime Raids into the game. Prime Raids give players incentive to return to older raid tiers. Prime Raids begin at Prime Level 1 that are similar to existing raid progression, but with a twist. Each raid and Prime Level beyond 1 increases the challenges and rewards over "normal" raiding.

Whenever I see news regarding Wildstar I can't stop myself from sighing dissapoitingly...
This could have been a WoW competitor if they didn't rush the release and listened to the voices of the players. Truly sad.
Honestly in the last 5-6 years this is probably the only good MMORPG that came out that was at an exceptional level and yet it was ruined before it even launched due to corporate greed.

This, exactly this. I was trying to like & love this game so much. But pure stupidity of people behind it scared away my friends from it, and then bored me to sleep. Such a missed opportunity :(

Of all the things you could say about Wildstar I don't think rushed is one of them.

The game was 9 years in development (2 by independent Carbine, 7 as NCSoft Carbine).

Does anyone seriously even play this anymore?

It's such a small team maintaining the game now, Wildstar was about to die when the steam release gave it oxygen, but the game continues in constant decay so wouldn't get back to play it. =/

I take it you weren't in the beta. When they announced that the beta would end in 2 weeks literally every single player in the beta told them clearly that the game wasn't even remotely ready...
The reason they decided to stop the beta was there was A LOT of hype for the game and the corporate people clearly stated that they don't want players to burn out... There were even devs who said that it's not a good idea to stop the beta yet and release.
Heck the game wasn't even optimizer for most of the best video cards...

One , and from my point of view, the biggest mistake they made with Wildstar is where they made the switch from Tab Targeting combat to .. "Action" like combat. The people were not really ready ( not even now ) to make the switch , yet .. they decided to take that approach. That have turned off A LOT , and I mean A LOT of players. I believe half their players have left the game after first month because of that reason.

In PVP , range characters , in the beginning , were best , while close combat chars , well .. let's just say that you could do good only if you were .. pretty , and I mean pretty skilled ( and I mean good , not very good , or awesome good ) . So only the pro players were doing good in PVP maps, most were like "WTF is THIS?!"

Anyway , I feel very , and I mean very sad about Wildstar. Even with the combat , I kinda liked it a lot . But in the end .. the lack of .. oh yeah , classes!!!! and of course the above problems combined with the low population, has made me quit.

Having said this , Wildstar will keep going, no matter what X or Y says. NcSoft will not make the same "mistake" ( good financial ) decision , as they did with CoH. Plus , I heard that Carbine is working on a new game?! :)

I am praying to the stars and heavens that it is COH 2. It would make sense for them to put their american studio on the project for a game that would be mostly popular in the west. I'm a sucker and preordered MXM only b/c it had Statesman and will be playing him exclusively as my own little campaign to show that luv for COH still exists + no hard feelings.

NCSoft does make quality games though and is willing to dish out serious cash to produce quality which is pretty rare now a days even for AAA companies.

WS is a quality game that imo should've steered clear of hardcore raiding cause that is very niche and gets old fast. If they went more PVE open world sci-fi sandbox I think the game would've been more successful even with the telegraphs. I have NFI how what wrote ended up in your quote and don't know how to fix it and can't delete it, sorry.

Action combat is one thing, telegraphs and all abilities being AoE is another. That's what made me quit. If you had telegraphs on the PvP looked like a discotheque from the 80s.
