So obviously they have a lot of money from the Witcher series. So i would expect they have a top notch security team,so then HOW,it would be nearly impossible without some inside help.So is it an inside job,is it even legit or the game has less interest than they figured so perhaps an insurance scam.
Perhaps they have or are using outside resources that have access to their offices/computers?It just seems far too far fetched for me to believe, much like the often used DDOS attacks some devs were using the past 2 years.
A bit of an interesting read from back in November, putting forth a scenario of a hostile takeover to it's shareholders as well other voting restrictions and a vote to sell back shares to the company.
Once i start hearing about stuff like shares and possible takeovers,i get real suspicious of intentions and what is going on behind closed doors.
Just curious, does the sun ever shine on your planet?
My friend, i almost spit my coffee out laughing from your comment lol.
Wow really a piss poor RP stunt to stir up hype about a game that has had zero discussion in the past 3 years since it was announced.
that doesn't make much sense. E3 is 4 days away, they would stir all the hype they can at the event. Plus, they don't even have to hype their games. CDPR is still one of the few companies that make high quality games and don't ruin them with nickel and diming nonsense. As long as they remain independent and transparent they have my support and my money.
Like someone said above, i'm looking forward to Cyberpunk, with or without leaks.
These delinquent kids trying to pass as cool hackers need to get some good time in jail.

I think this company is more above board than most. If they wanted to "stir up hype" all they had to do was show some footage. Based on the original footage and the response it received it would have been "job well done'.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

to be fair his avatar is a magically generated black hole subjugating everything to damnation.
We should stop calling these folks hackers, too legitimate of a term.
Criminals would work, terrorists being a bit over the top.

Nothing is secure online, anyone to think otherwise is a fuckin idiot. The security can be hardened and built with best practices in mind but it still isn't going to be 100%. There are a million ways to circumvent security and when one is closed up, hundreds more are invented. We have not yet seen a cyber war in action, but the events are ramping up to make history. And when it hits, its going to be one hell of a shock to people.

Correct, it's all about mitigation -- not completely stopping intruders.

Fairly certain the "war" has been going on for some time now.

Agreed. Government security agencies have been penetrated, what chance would a gaming company have if someone set their sites on it. And when you have some major companies and hospitals that still run XP because their proprietary software would be too expensive to upgrade you've got problems waiting to happen.

Well, if I remember correctly the ransomware already has solution.
From the article it sounds like stolen files.

As much as I dislike the witcher, Never bothered with 2 and 3 after how god aweful the first one was gameplay wise. Better question is how did they manage to get them in the first place.
Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either:
A. Proven right (if something bad happens)
or
B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens)

Your lose. Witcher 2 is decent, but Witcher 3 is a masterpiece.
