in Dark Age of Camelot
my wife and i was thinking about starting playing DAOC, i have played before, i was just wondering if it is fun to play and worth comming back to?

    Totally and unequivovally yes. The game is better now than ever, with recent expansions and graphical upgrades as well as better experience rewards, DAoC is primed and ready. The graphics are very up to date now rivalled only by EQ2 and in fact in some ways superior and the grind has been significantly reduced with task rewards. I recommend the Epic Edition.

    Great game with tons of improvements, it has become much easier for a casual gamer to get ahead in this game.  That was one of my few complaints as a college student and now a professional I don't have the time to camp Mesudbastet for hours to maybe, possibly, get a shot at, a cloak.  I love the changes they have been coming out with.  Great stuff!!

    Personally I think DAOC is the best MMO currently available.

    It's certainly worth giving the free trial a spin.  And if you don't like it?  You've lost nothing but the time it took to download and play ;)

    I've only been playing for a few months now and I have to say DAoC has got to be the BEST MMORPG I've played.  Mythic is a great company and from what I've heard from the veteran players, they've added and upgraded so many things since launch, it's hardly the same game anymore!

    I would suggest starting up on the classic server if you're a more casual gamer. The regular servers have ToA which will suck up alot of your time to get gear. Whichever you like though

    Gareth is probably the better of the Classic servers.

    The Pop is good.

    Please oh please don't roll a hib!! Mid needs some players!!!

    There have been a number of changes to many classes with many more on the way (all good)

    Warriors now have group resist buffs and climb walls.

    Changes to stealth classes are great!

    Hunters  love INC.

    Thanes got some love but imo they need a little more.

    Locks (still viable for Hex)

    There is a ton I left out, but I don't want to ruin the surprise =)

    It is worth coming out and discovering the game all over again!

    DAoC is a great game if it suits your play style.  I perfer soloing with the option to have mass group action (mostly due to the time of day I get to play the most).  If you like grouping and can easily find groups then it is a great game.  I just do not go in for forced groupings.  Yes I know about Cat but how many times can you run through the same dungeons before you get bored out of your mind.

    Yes please go help the Mids out, even if you like Hib better.  Do it for the better of Hibkind because without other realms to kill it would be boring for the Hibs :)

    Daoc is a very respectable mmo that stood tall and still stands tall, I recently started 2+ months ago and love it! The rvr is rocks and at higher levels the battles can get huge, pve is decent and graphics are some of the best looking imo. This game also has great community feel to it because u and ur realm must work as a team if u wanna succeed in rvr.

    The only things about Daoc I do not like is instanced TD's which are kinda boring but u do need to do alot of em if u wanna level fast. There is also no penalty for death in rvr which I also would like to see but I dont expect a game to be perfect and Daoc is my favorite mmo atm.

    I only say roll Mid because if you roll Hib you will have to compete with vamps for AJ RP leaching ;)

    But roll a Warden and enjoy it very much.

    Roll a Heritic or Friar and have a blast.

    Roll a BD, SM, RM, Healer, Skald and have a wonderful time

    Just play!!

    Yeah, but if you play on the classic server consider that you'll not be able to see the ToA content.  And it's some of my favorite content of all.

    Well My main server is Mid Galahad.  When I started about 2 or so years ago I was solely Mid and to this day I can never leave it for long but I also have Hibs on Igraine which makes for great conflicts of interest and I just started alb on gareth (by the way El I've got my tic going so I need either your online name or guild or you can look for uglylilman.)

    Overall I like the main servers for all of the content but I do kinda wish they would implement the same rules on buffers like they did in the classics.  That would make things alot greater.

    Time to get on.......

    This game has always got me to play it again, and i'm doing it now with a friend of mine, we both are rolling shadowblades on igrain, leveling up is slow even with powerleveling myself hehe, cus i already have alot of 50s scattered around 3 servers on 2 accounts, but this time i hope i'm going to have REAL fun ;p
