You know, if someone came up to me, handed me a weapon and told me to head out into the wilderness with three of my friends to slaughter a gigantic monster that was causing a ruckus, I’d probably feel rather daunted by the task. Fortunately for me, I am not my avatar from my hands-on time with Dauntless at E3 who did not seem even the least bit daunted by such a quest.

That is the primary focus. From what I gather this game is about hunting down big monsters (behemoth) and killing them. You then can craft armor to prepare for the next hunt. The game so far is focus'd on small group 4 man fights. The battles are expected to be more challenging than most MMO's. They are taking from Dark Souls, Monster Hunter and World of Warcraft.
Monster Hunter has 3 major selling point,
1) the gear you craft bears the appearance of the monster you killed,
2) map design is varied and interesting with plenty of vertical design(no flat tunnel) and
3) Bosses are unique AND smart.
Other MH inspired games look cool but lack those points and just become bland button mashers with no unique design or features other than cool weapons which is not enough.
Looking forward to see what Dauntless brings to the table.
