Per MMORPGCHART.COM (Best Available information though some is a little dated) Currently, in the following order: The Over 1 Million Club #1 WOW #2 Lineage #3 Lineage II #4 GuildWars (If you choose to count it, it's not on MMORPGCHART but they recently stated they have 1.5 million active accounts, how they track that I have no idea since they aren't subscriber based, it's probably actually less players though)
The Over 100k Club #10 COH/COV #11 Ultima Online #12 EVE
EVE is knocking on UO's door. Then has another 30-50k to go before passing COH/COV
NOTE: I deliberately left SWG off the list because even though old data shows them over 200k subs the data is "pre-nge" and doesn't show what effect the NGE had. Unnofficial data post NGE Showed probable numbers for that title at < 100k so for the purposes of this post I'm going under the assumption that SWG has fewer than 100k players.

from SOE? No. They will give you a powerpuffed number from the ALL crapacces station pass. Which still between their 5 games on it, only had around 400,000 subscribers.
But other smaller companies arent ashamed of their numbers, and will often post them if requested. Or Blizzard is gracious about that also. But that one is a given.
guys, western games don't even come close to asian subscribers in terms of numbers (except for WoW ofcourse). sugesting Everquest or Guild Wars is pointless, Lineage 2, Ragnarok Online, Lineage and I could go on all blow Guild Wars and everything SOE has to offer together out of the water in terms of subscribers.

its too outdated. RF Online has a rough 2~3 million subscribers in korea, so you can remove GW.

SOME of it is out dated. Some is recent. He's got data up from January for many of the games he's charting. And I'd like to see something OFFICIAL that says RF has 2-3 mil subs. That wouldn't knock GW off the chart though, they're still quoted at 1.5 million So they'd stay in the "Over a Million" rank.

Why are you guys all arguing over each others guesses ? None of the companies ever release real numbers so even the "stats" here are just a good guess.
the EVE one was even more funny, with its 100k subscribers haha.
its curently: 1:World of Warcraft 2:Lineage 1/2 (very populair in Korea) 3:Ragnarok Online (believe it or not, this game is H U G E in korea)
edit: These are based on current subscribers, things like MU Online and Legend of mir are based on accounts created, those are f2p mmo's.
edit 2: woops, mixed 2 and 3 up :S
Not to knock this poster, but if the OP is asking about numbers, EVE definitely COULD be the top member MMO by a long shot. As there is only one SHARD (excluding the china franchise currently in beta), any time you log into EVE you will find in excess of 10,000 players (at off peak), and closer to 20,000 players ONLINE all the time. No matter what the "subscription" numbers of any other MMO are, there are NO OTHER MMO's with these kinds of numbers playing together in the same "universe" anywhere.
Also EVE's sub base is now over 120k+, with estimates by CCP (who have been very accurate in reporting their numbers) with that going toward 200k+ by the end of the year.
No it doesn't have the 2-5+million "subscribers" as some of the others, but for pure numbers that a person sees when logging in, EVE is simply in a class by itself.
1. Asian market is different from the Western Market in that its played in internet cafes and everyone who logs on is a 'subscriber', additionally, most people here are Western and are not likely interested in the Asian mmos, though some exceptions. 2. Mmogchart is outdated, EQ2 would have increased substantially since then especially with its improvements and with its added pvp. 3. Guild wars doesn't have any subscribers, it probably counts everyone that bought the game.
So I would say it would be WoW, EQ2 followed by EQ or maybe Guild wars if it actually is 'active' players.
But yeah Asian market wise, I believe they actually have some mmos in Asia which has a lot more players than Lineage/2.
Guild Wars has zero subscribers, by definition. Wrong, GW has both pay once and pay per month players. Do your research. Also any numbers about GWs sales figures relate to only specific places not the whole market. For example, they dont count, NZ, Australia, etc or anywhere out of its region areas.

best I could find for you was this:
http://www.gamespot.com/search.html?qs=RF Online&sub=m&stype=11&type=11
in the interview with the producer, he says:"RF online currently has over a million subscriers in korea".
sorry, I can't find the stupid website, I'll look around some more.
