Aion Cleric was my favourite mmo class for ages, still in my top 5.

Lvl 40's killing lvl 18's over and over, then repeatedly suiciding so they could stay in the lower area.
Aion 2 ??? - May the gank be with you.

One fail on refining and all crystals lost - sure they changed it, but too late to save the subscription model.
Same for losing xp on deaths. People where going round with a whole level of xp to recover - and no funds at all to do it.

If Aion 2 does see the light of day I hope they've learnt the lessons from the first go. Including the 'pvpve' - whatever that was supposed to mean. Mixing pve players with pvp players - yep sure it's going to work, oh where have all the subs gone......

I will 100% play Aion if it succeeds in taking what Aion has right now making the unique aspects even better. I don't mind different combat style (action combat) but i would love the crafting system to be advanced , more diversity between builds (almost all people run same stigma builds) and most of all the Open World PvP could be made a bit better, as it died out in seconds after releasing Ingisson and 55 level caps ..i may be incorrect about what expansion it was). I love this game forever with my heart and have such great memories but right now its overflooded with bots and people that are 10x better geared than you and have no lives outside of it and then annihilate you in PvP with no chance fighting back simply cos of gear difference.

Unless Nexon controls the development studio behind Aion or NCsoft dropped their deal with the developers of Aion, then it is not Aion2.  =)

NCSoft IS the developer of Aion. NC East is the developer and runs the Asia versions of the game. NC West runs the NA version of the game and GameForge runs the EU version.

If they go back to sub model I'll gladly play, hell, I'd probably play even if it's F2P. Even better if it's closer to 1.0 and less PvE/Carebear/Casual oriented. Aion 1.0 actually had great PvE that was much more engaging than today's gold standard of lolFFXIV. Aion went down hill when it went F2P but it didn't go to absolute poop until they nerfed every elite area in the game because there weren't enough players.

I'd play an Aion 2 if it keeps the phenomenal animations of the first, shifts to action combat, removes flight restrictions, and has robust aerial combat.

Agreed. Also AION, at least when i played it (shortly after it went F2P) was very grindy when questing. If im going to kill some rats, dont make me kill 50, just tell me 5 rats and be done with it. That was really boring and almost every quest was like that.

No kill 5 rats is horrible because then you get games where all you're doing is running around, talking to NPC's, turning in to get a new quest, etc. That sucks! I want to spend most of my time in combat because that's the fun part.

Aion, when it was released to NA and was subscription, was utterly fantastic. The combat was fun, flashy, and definitely at the high end, completely skillful - and I say this seriously as someone who loves games that require it. Yes, it wasn't action combat but it was pretty fluid. However, that was grounded combat. Flight combat was horribly clunky and many people avoided it like the plague. I pretty much dedicated myself to Rifting and invading territory. Being able to hide your Kisk in hard-to-reach areas was amazing. The skull icon (which was a global locator for all to see so you'd get hunted down like crazy) was an intelligent and intuitive method to prevent massive griefing. I'm surprised more companies don't promote solutions via in-game rather than creating restrictive rulesets that ruin the game for everyone else.

Overall, Aion's itemization suffered as the game progressed. Early on, the itemization was excellent. Some classes excelled vs others, but overall, I'd say it was 'mostly' balanced. Solo rifting was completely viable. The community was excellent. I remember starting an IRC channel for the Ariel server and we had a blast. I hope there are factions as I feel faction PvP is somewhat polarizing and allows players to have some sense of belonging and 'safety', which overall helps the population.

Anyway, I ranted, I would love to see an Aion 2 that was more like Aion 1.0 rather than the completely stupid Aion of today.

Aion's pvp was great  for the first 8 months. Then the gear gap started to show itself. The Pigeons were getting geared faster and because NCSoft didn't address the issue, people started to reroll to the pigeon side. And then you ended up with a gear gap and lopsided population in a 2 sided pvp game. The NPC's did crap for balance.

They even tried a reset and a month after that 12 out 14 server went right back to being dominated by the pigeons due to population imbalance.

Based on how Ncsoft acted so late on resolving issues in  Aion 1 I would do a let it launch and see how it goes.

Yea, I remember that. lol. I was Asmodian so I felt it. It was strange how it was lopsided. But yea, I agree, the first while the game was fantastic but as more and more people (especially Elyos) were able to get the crowns from Abyss (lopsided), it became pretty ridiculous. However, only the most hardcore were getting the top end PvP gear so rifting was still fun. However, 8 months seems about right when I quit. The game definitely descended.

Unfortunately I think developers can really only maintain a two faction system in an open world PvP game. Anything beyond that becomes exponentially more difficult to balance and I don't trust any of them do do it.

It's interesting you say let it launch when the first 8 months of Aion were good. I find, although launches have headaches, they are also a little like wild west. Stake your claim and win big. Find the gimmicks, manipulate markets, be among the first into a new world.

I would definitely play Aion 2. I loved Aion back in 2009, and I stil think it had one of the best game soundtracks ever. Let's hope pvp is a little more meaningful this go-round.

    Current game: Pillars of Eternity

Played: UO, AC, Eve, Fallen Earth, Aion, GW, GW2

    Tried: WOW, Rift, SWTOR, ESO

    Future: Camelot Unchained?  Crowfall?  Bless?

    It probably is Aion2, which I have no desire to play, but here is a fun fact;

When City of Heroes was in alpha testing, they called it A City of Heroes, then shortened the name by dropping the 'A' during early closed beta.

The world is going to the dogs, which is just how I planned it!

Make flight actually matter in tge sequel and don't put a time limit and cooldown on it.

The title is a mistake. It's NCSoft making the game.

As long as I can roll mage and stack 4k DP every hour so I can 1 shot teams fighting Balaur in the abyss. That's real PvP.
  • DimmizerDimmizer Member UncommonPosts: 18

It will be mobile title and you can quote me later :)

It wont be a mobile game because NCSoft is already working on Linage Eternal and it wouldn't be smart t have 2 mobile games come out next to each other because it'll create a lot of competition between the 2 + we also have MU Legend and Lost Arc.

Aion 2 if it comes will be PC based garenteed. Quote me later :) lol.

At the curent state of Aion i would not be surprised if NCSoft with Gameforge are trying to ruin the game on purpose so they can come up with Aion 2 I LOVE AION i still play it but i hope that if Aion2 will come that its gonna be B2P not subscription not F2P just B2P

Well with the new expansion that are it could be a thing with the "last" expasion for Aion to be a final quest where the ToE is restored and everything with Aether to be implemented in Aion 2 so you can fly the most important thing is to have the Shugo's nyerk
  • MoctonMocton Member UncommonPosts: 3

    I thought Aion 2 was/is Revelations Online? :X

Revelations Online is a failed attempt to show they can be greater than Aion but the optimization and the graphic bugs that the game have is a huge turndown for many Aion fans that hope they will have a game in wich you can fly as you want the Flight system is cluncky and buggy the camera is controled by a drunk dwarf that just wants to fuck you up and there are no Asmodians
  • BlazerXBlazerX Member UncommonPosts: 86
no it's gotta be Lineage 3. Damnit it would be an INJUSTICE at this point if NCSOFT didn't deliver on their flag title.
