Is the community really bad?

I keep hearing there is no RP, no in game activities/events and that the player base is really immature.  Is all this true?  It's very discouraging and I'm not sure if I want to buy a game that has such a bad community.  For me, that's the best part of an MMO, or I would just go play a console game if I want solo action with no community/friends.  Please share your experiences with us, particularly those who are current subscribers.

Actually, I'd say the AA community is much more mature than most MMOs I've played.  Might be due to the lack of hype, where less mature players aren't smart enough to find a game, if it's not advertised to them well enough.

As for events and roleplaying, it's too early to comment on that, IMHO.  If anything like that gets going, it'll take a while to catch on.  There is a "RP" server, but it has no rules or anything.  Guess we'll see how that goes.

    When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.

The best cure for that is to find a good group of people to play the game with. I usually play all the MMOs with the same group of people. I don't care of lack of community these days as long as everyone I play with switches games with me.

No stupidity in chat channels, good co-operation out of convoy, politeness. My experience of the community so far.
