Tried to like the first one, but they pushed the elemental damage and trap hazard so hard that it ended up feeling like a gimmick they built the entire game around, instead of a complimentary feature to turn-based RPG combat.

I don't like games that use a feature like that so extensively that it seems to govern the entirety of the experience. The amount of elementals arrows that were being flung back and forth between me and the enemies in the game were downright silly.

    Arrows?! Who uses arrows? WIZAAARRDDSSS!

But yeah, I don't think I'll ever do split screen on this game.  I mean I love the game, but turn based just never feels good like this.  Maybe its because my friends take too long to plot their next moves.

I've had an absolute blast playing in the beta version with my partner. It's so much better than the first. :)

The 1st one was an amazing game. The second one already in early access is the best rpg I've played in years. This is an amazing dev team.

I haven't played since the first act released.  After I beat it, I had to stop because it was tough not being able to continue.

How would you all compare this to Baldurs gate 2 and all expansions? BG2 is still to this day my vote for best rpg ever, would love to find another rpg in that caliber.

Split screen? WTF...? Who cares about split screen (except maybe the scrub with no pc)?

Some people have their PC's set up to their TV as well as their monitors. I know when I had mine on my TV it was nice to have games that support split screen that I could play with my significant other, who didn't have it installed on the other computer.

Seriously though, more games need this. I never finished the first game because I got halfway on ironman and got to a strange combat I couldn't win. Burned out and moved on. It's been a year or so; maybe a new playthrough and seeing the rest of the story will get me out of the meh I feel for the series.
