What's combat in this game like?

I've heard mixed reviews of this game and I'm curious, what's the combat system like? Is it similar to the old Y's games for consoles back in the day? Or is it just a platform with an auto-attack system.

Its quite good but gets boring very fast, not many places to go and not many monsters

You assign an attack to your keyboard and simply click it to activate it... you move with the arrow keys, so mouse is not use to battle (not like PnC). You always have to click again to perform the attack again. There is no targetting, and it's 2D, so you attack the monster that is the nearest to you (and if its in range of course).

it is really realy addicting . U use some keyboard button like c or something for like a special attack like
energy bolt.U use arrow keys to walk. when u attack u have to attack when theres a monster it will only attack the monster that is the closeset. i remember z was to pick up stuff and ctrl to attack or somthing
and i forgot wut was alt. (i havent played this for like 6 months)

pretty much unless your a assassin,mage user, or cleric. you really have no mutiple use of attacks.. pretty much you focus only into one attack which is your main hit.. as a warrior you get melee 24.7 and only mutiple hit from a certain range,.
overall its a 6/10 unless your a spellcaster.

Fun game, but like mentioned above, it gets boring after spending hours on end grinding away. Basically combat is like a mario brothers with swords.
