I hear that World of Warcraft is way too easy for any gamer with a lot of MMORPG experience. Now, please don't flame me as that is not my opinion, just things I have read/heard about this game. But then again, I also hear it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Could anyone set me straight on this??
I miss the good ol' days when nerds were actually intelligent.

It is a really fun game at first, but died out quickly after that for me. It isn't that WoW does anything really badly, but that it is repeatative and cliched. You can only do so many kill XXX of XXX tasks before you get tired of them. The crafting system is so bjorked that the only reason to level a actual profession that isn't gather is to make a no-trade item for yourself, or if you somehow got a random epic recipe drop from raiding.
But it is fun for what it is. The combat system can be great fun or frustrating depending on the target. Counterstrike like tactics have become part of the game now in BGs which ticks me off. It is pretty common to have people glitching and firing aimed shots from inside a wall etc.
So, if you are bored of the standard MMO it is worth a try, but don't expect the depth that other games have. Some of it is exceedingly easy and some of it is needless difficult the balance in WoW is kinda random as far as difficulty.
I've not found WoW any easier than other games i played. Yes, you tend to move up the levels relativly faster, but the mechanics involved in combat are actually more fast paced and involved than say, EQ.
WoW provide each class a number of skills/spells/specials that is quite high, mastering all of those can take a while.
If you add to this 40 people raid that requires almost perfect coordination and PvP battles that varies from fast Capture the flag to epic destroy the enemy base using huge, 20 ft talls elementals, i would not classify WoW as "easy" nor "shallow".
There is always something to do or somewhere to go, the world is vast and diverse.
Crafting is not very complex but the charm of it is that is integrated in the game. there aren't two games "Adventurer" and "Crafter", it is a single experience that you will go trough as you proceed. You will find your nodes everywhere you go, so while you complete quests, you will also get stuff for your crafting.
Crafting also gives you useful stuff from level 1 and i found that most of the time, it always offered me something for my level. I played a blacksmith and a alchemist.
On endgame i won't comment, but the experience 1-59 is almost universally considered the best around for its genre.

Hope this helps.
P.S
I am just casual but enjoy a good challenge
- if u are a rpg'er then i doubt u will easyly beat neferian
- if ur a pvper good luck getting rank 14
WoW is a weird game with many mixed opinions, I just quit it after playing it from release and wasnot disapointed and yea lvling was easy as hell if you have any idea of what you are doing it should take you about 9-14 days /played to hit 60. and the most importent thing is.....
--------GET INTO A GOOD RAIDING/PVP GUILD-------------------------
Then the real hard stuff comes up the goals being
-PvP-Rank 14 most never even come close to getting there without spending 5+ hours a day everyday PvPing and even then some people have 3+ people playing there account so they can be on 24/7 to rank to 14
-Raiding-Making progress in 40 man AQ if your guild can do any of the boss's here then they are most likly worth joining but then again just like with PvP expect to have no real social life if you want to progress anywhere with a hardcore raiding guild i remember raiding over 40 hours per week.
But trying not to stray away from the OP's question basically anything at this point of time including the crafting system is easy all these places will give you nothing more than headaches after the first few runs
-All 5-15 man runs scholo/BRD/UBRS/LBRS ect, ect,
-ZG
-Onxyia
-Kazzak
-Azuragos
-Molten Core (commonly called Molten Chore)
-Black Wing Lair-Well this is a tossup lots of guilds can do this easily and then again for some its the hardest thing they have ever tried.
So yea its 4 in the morning and im sure alot of this wont make any sense but ohwell it is true WoW is a very easy game with the exception of 1-2 instances but you should have abit of fun getting there and is not to easy to be fun

Not really. The easy factor makes the game a lot more fun. I mean the almost non-existent death penalty doesnt make you want to pull your hair out when you get ganked.
I strongly recommend WoW. I quit the game but I had a godo time while playing it.
I played WoW when it went live the first week. I never liked the cartoonist graphics but all my friend from SWG went there so I follow my Guild. I had fun for 4 months or so and I quit.
Crafting----Too easy, nothing to do then press the amount you want to craft. EQ2 as good crafting.
Raid----Not in a good guild, you can spend hours getting a group (from 15 to 40 ppl) and if you don't know what your doing or what to do, you get ban from the Raid (most of the time it is always the same ppl on the server who runs the Raid)
PvP----On a PvP server you start getting Gank at lvl 15-20 (thank god there's no death penalty) or if you like to wait hours in queue for a spot in a battleground, thats your game.
Leveling----Is the most fun part of the game but only when the server is new (too many ganker lvl 60 on regular server)
But beside that, yes the game is very easy for experience player. Being rank 14 in PvP is not hard like others said, it need a shit load of time to get there (like some said, some ppl are hardcore playing 24/7) or try to beat a certain monster, yes the monster is hard but the game is still very easy.
I would recommend to get a free trial before you start.
I always say, if you get how the game work in the first 3-4 lvl you play, thats means the game is very easy.
WoW is build for young player who like things easy, if your an experience player get a real game, their is so many coming in the next month, you will find one better I am sure. For my experience I prefer EQ2, more complex and takes more time to get at the end, but right now I stop MMO for a while I am waiting for Vanguard or Spellborn.
Get a life you freaking Gamer.....no no, you don't understand, I'm a Gamer, I have many lives!!
Crafting is basicly none excistant compared to other mmorpgs because it's either bind on pickup or worse than loot available to you in instances.
PvE wise the game is very limited once you hit level 60, exploring dies because you spend months doing the excat same dungeon, soloable content dies because you need 39 friends to advance, etc.
PvP is pretty horrific because most level 60ies spend their time in safezones or pve instances, yes, even on pvp servers.
RvR content/rewards/honor system are a freaking joke compared to what was released with DAOC and when you look at the ideas mythic have for warhammer online it just makes you sad.
I once saw a guy call world of warcraft feebased diablo and in a way he is correct. in diablo you sat on the battlenet chat channels waiting to join games like bhaal runs or whatever, in world of warcraft you sit in a virtual chat zone waiting to join instances like black wing lair.
But the hardcore PvE acvhivement content itself isn't all that easy and if you like that sort of gameplay the game is worth your money. I just wouldn't call it an mmorpg.
Hell no!
Professor Hubert Farnsworth - That question is less stupid but, you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.
The only skill i've ever seen in the game is from the raid leaders, who have to tell or remind everyone what to do for certain places. So co-ordinating group strategy is about it for skill, in 1on1 combat its all about the gear. if you have better gear then when you highlight target and click attack you will win. And there's already enough threads about how getting gear in the first place has nothing to do with individual skill.
The reason i've been playing for over a year is to hang out with friends and cause mayhem, i would have quit long ago if i was on a PvE server, World PvP is the shizznit, plenty of fun to be had if your just creative.
And 2vs1 always wins, even if the 1 is loaded with epics.
Blizzard kiddies...what a waste of American dollar on the school system.
/sigh
Wow is the first mmo i ever played and i played it for 4 months. And in my opinion it's very much fun, but eventually it will become boring especially when you hit 60.
About the Pvp if you are lvl 60 and you encounter a player with better gear you will probably lose depending on class though, but from lvl 40 to 59 is pvping actually kinda fun 1vs1 and skill and reflex are very important, you can have some fun pvp until some high lvl noob runs into the fight and ganks the hell outta you.
it isn't really hard, it's mostly very time-absorbing and the quests are mostly grinding mobs for a drop or just for the kill. It doesnt take too long too figure out how the game works, but it still is a very fun game that can keep you interested for well 4 months for me . It's the longest i ever played just one game, without playing any other game!
Too easy to have fun. That's dependent on your taste.

Is it too easy because you can level fast? What about games like DAoC where you can be Power leveled? I would consider that much easier.
Is the PvP too easy? This doesn't make sense, although there are certain classes that are better then others at PvP, but if you complain about it being too easy you shouldn't be playing these classes anyways.
I just want a good solid answer as to why it is too easy.
The first 5 levels get you attuned to every aspect of fighting, moving around, taking and completing quests and so on. The next 5 levels futher expands this knowledge and also gets you into the trade skill system. The next 50 levels are spend on learning your talents and skills gradiuatly and also gets you into the basics of doing instances. Eventually your month long learning session takes you to level 60 where it steps up a nothc and begins to teach you about harder instance encounters and the value of better items in 5-10 man instances.
One day you'll be done learning and become ready to step into a raiding guild so you can begin to complete the big raids which is what the game is all about. These raids however, aren't all the easy, especially not when your guild is first begining to do them and you have to learn each encounter from the button.
No other mmorpg has been as complete in it's intuitive learning as world of warcraft is, but it's really a Blizzard trademark isn't it? Everyone can play starcraft but players who really master it can defeat 7 lesser opponents in a 1v7 match,
I agree. WoW never gave me that sense of accomplishment. Granted, I got bored and quit before level 60....but it's not my fault I felt I was playing EQ-lite after having played EQ for 4 years..so.
It's all in a matter of opinion...I always had that "been there done that" feeling except this time with a bunch of immature 14 yr olds. wow, tons of fun.
It is however like every other MMO with ups and downs of its own. I enjoy it, because the world is so intricatly fleshed out. There is so much lore in the game and if you know a bit about that every experiance you have will have that much more meaning.
The grind isnt all that bad, quests are fun, item drops are fairly frequent. The really fun stuff doesnt start until about level 35-40, the instances for the most part are clever, challenging and entertaining.
But heres the deal. If you get into the leveling treadmill, and only want to level solo as fast as you can you will quickly burn out on WoW. If you take it at a leisurly pace and "stop and smell the roses" from time to time you may enjoy yourself.
Crafting isnt anything special, ceratinly no where near the complexity of EQ2 or pre-CU SWG, but it is a refinement and improvement on EQs, L2s, DAoC, AO, etc craft systems. Nothing spectacular anyway, and its not like you can really just craft.
There isnt a ton of classes, nor are there a ton of races, nor huge character customization. There is enough though, and you can differentiate your appearance in a number of ways. In the beginning most look similar to eachother and at the end everyone is in thier Epic gear so look similar, most variation occures between levels 2-59 .
The game is elegant in a way, I like to explore, rarely doing more than 20% of a level in instances, and maybe another 20% with questlines, the rest is bumbling around exploring, hunting, dieing, and pvping.
I put off trying it for a long time, mostly because I was so involved with SWG when wow launched, but since the first CU there I had been bouncing from one MMO to the other, revisiting old ones, finally settling on WoW. I'm still waiting for a new Sci-fi or a truely complex MMO to launch, but until then I'll divide my time between WoW, Oblivion, and a number of singleplayer games.
WoW is worth a try.
