Bring it BACK Damn U!!!

For Gods sake just open a server with the pre CU on it for all the people you F'd over SOE and make a shed load of money whats the problem ...?

Over 80% of people who voted said they would return to a pre CU server and start from scratch with all the old bugs included and be very happy to part with their cash again... so lets see 100k people return at 10 - 15 quid a month ... hell I'd do the math for you, but I aint doing evreything...

OTHERWISE... this will happen, and I'll laugh my ass off if $OE miss the boat on this one...

The SWG eMU's that are coming out will run Pre CU servers get tens of thousands of people rejoin THEIR server and no doubt many many n00bs when they see what they have been missing and believe me many MANY people will happily donate (myself included) 10 - 20 quid amonth to them for the privalege...

I cannont believe that $OE and Lucasarts do not have access to the Intaa Webb and don't know what is about to hit them in the face... lmao... the rebellion strikes back...

    You may have your opinion... and I will not get over it... I miss this game terribly and I will get it back one way or another, the only choice here is this...

    $OE can make hundreds of thousands of dollars a month or someone else can ...

    just if sony do it... it will be quicker...

    I wouldn't worry to much about him. He is one of the fanbois that instead of coming up with creative arguments to defend the NGE just doles out insults instead.

    They know about the EMU projects, but I believe the term they're using is "believe it when we see it."  I tend to agree with them, even if they manage to re-write all the code they then have to get the servers to accomodate the people as well as the connection with the approrpriate bandwidth.  This isn't going to be cheap nor easy to do.  Then, after going through all that work it's pretty much guaranteed that they'll have both SOE and LA ontop of them with lawsuits.

    I'm not saying you're wrong for wanting a pre-cu server, just warning you so you don't get your hopes up high for one of these EMUs only to have them torn down because they don't eventuate :)

    Yeah I tend to agree with you on this. SOE/LA are incompetant beyond words, but they specialize in beating people down and dashing their hopes so this is probably the one thing they will demonstrate competance on sigh.

    If SOE dosnt roll back then some crew in some east European contry or some place where laws wont hurt them are going to make a pre-cu server its inevitable. The demand is to high and I personaly would donate 5000$ or more of my own money to see it succeed and would laugh cause SOE wouldnt be able to do a damn thing.

       SOE will never roll back,the only way the SOE company would role back is if all of SOE's staff got fired and then replaced with brand-new never worked for SOE developers,they might listen to the player base and comply to their request.Or if some how SOE has a stashed CU version server somewhere,and 1 of the devs would leave SOE,take the CU server emulators/codes...whatever they are called,then give them to the player base.

    I think it is simply time for the game to die.  SOE and LA pull the plug.  You will never make it work.

    I think its funny. Everytime someone asks for a Pre-CU server or for a rollback your here quick saying it wont happen or the NGE is here to stay. I find it wildly ironic.

    After the CU hit, there were alot of upset people. They asked for a Pre-CU server or a rollback as well. And there were plenty of people like you who would reply quick with "The CU is here to stay."

    But was the CU really here to stay? Hmmm.

    In otherwords what is gaurunteed today could be history tomorrow. Dont count your nunas til they're hatched.

    I'd also like to point out how many times SOE has blatantly lied about stuff.
    It just illustrates the perspective. Pirrg's is obviously from a perspective were he feels the need to stand up for SWG (Or to shut up all dissenters) and SOE. It's apparent that he likes the game and more power to him.
    Mine and many others perspective is opposite. SOE are liars in my opinion. IF they told me the sky was blue I'd look to make sure.

    But!
    In this case, even though i think SOE are full of windbags and liars. I doubt they'll ever make a Pre-CU server. It's just not how SOE operates. It would mean they admit to failure and give in to the "vocal minority" and that would be like negotiating with terrorists. Sadly, in a business sense I think it's a bad move. Considering they could have their cake and eat it too while giving all the players (New and old alike) what they want.
    It's jsut not going to happen. I came to that conclusion about a week after I quit.

    That's not to say they sren't going to roll out some new revamp crap and screw the game up again. Not sure how that could be possible but it could happen.

    I highly doubt they will get sued SOE will probably hire them because Smed Head already said you have to be damn good to get an EMU up and running.

    I agree Fignar, even SOE obviously had problems handling this highly complex piece of code (world simulator) It seems to me this is the true reason behind much off what we have seen in SWG e.g. i read long ago some SOE dude on station forum, "complain" about how much ressources they were spending on Bio engineer, compared to so few ppl were playing BE.

    Its hard to believe some guys should pull off an EMU and i won't even start to mention the economics you'd need behind you.

    Yes, another SWG post, but I will respond to this one as I usually do.  The game in it's current state blows.  I would return to SWG if it was brought back to it's former, pre-CU state, when it was an original, challenging mmo.  Now it's just a mindless clickfest.  Bring the game we loved back!

    Yes, I also know this won't happen, but it doesn't hurt to express opinions, that's what forums are all about anyway, right?

    I did find other mmorpgs to play as SWG started moving away from the original, with it's CU.  Still, it would be nice to play it again, I had lots of fun with it in the beginning.

    This would be a good spot for an insult Pirrg since you can't up up with any creative defence of the NGE.

    Every company that has published a free for use EMU server of a Sony MMO product has closed down very shortly after the suits contacted them. Sorry you can sit and dream and say it's legal all day long, however as of right now the presedence and the track record say SOE wins. One EQ 1 clone free to use service tried to fight for them for a while, and pulled the plug after a short battle.

    I will beleive the EMU's when I see it. The raw server code that everyone is waiting for from the SWG project is only going to give a blank world at first, WITH alot of bugs. It's going to take years before people start writing applications to help with building the spawns and everything else needed in the world even if they get that far before SOE beats them down legally.

    Normally I agree with you but he has been hanging around for a couple of months(with nothing constructive to say just flings insults) so I figured the direct approach was in order now.

    Pirrg is one of the oldest and most annoying trolls here.  But like any stray you feed, he shows up more consistently when you feed his need for attention.   He says on his sig that he's "on the flip side of the coin where the troll and the fanboy are on one side", yet he is both a fanboi and a troll of the worst kind.  If you want to see more some of his illustrious work and why he shouldn't be answered to look at this post.

    I see what you mean it takes a special kind of person to say that. To acknowledge that you have been bent over the table by SOE and screwed and to like it is just beyond hope. He is defintly not firing on all thrusters with opnions like that. I can now see why he just flames away now instead of trying to portray his actual position.

    It was just really begining to annoy me how he would flame away at people that did not deserve that level of disrepect. Having an opposing viewpoint like Obraik is one thing thats what makes an argument; however just flaming away at everyone for the sake of being annoying was getting on my nerves so I figured I would attempt to get some constructive dialogue out of him. I can see I was sadly mistaken I would have better luck teaching my Beagle how to drive than to get Pirrg to articulate on his position in a meaningful manner that would make sence to the rest of us. I stand corrected.
