I'm betting on several of the above as "also included" with the spotlight squarely on a WoW expansion.

I'd also give just about anything for a remastered HD Diablo 2!

I can definitely seem them talking about a remaster to Diablo 2 or Warcraft 3. I think they would save Wow Expansion pack news for Blizzcon which I believe is just a few months away. Hearthstone just released an expansion, so probably not. Here's to hoping it's something new and awesome :D

    Doubtful they cannibalize WoW... Yeah.

On the other hand - would not people want to play 'World of Diablo'? I think while they know everything they need ('thing I need to know I do know', heh) - I am not to advise owners of most financially successful MMORPG - they underestimate their own settings. Starcraft, Diablo - they all make great MMROPGs. Also I think they'll get a great chunk of players if they lose that cartoonish WoW look for more realistic one. It's just have to be smooth as WoW is, but looking a bit more realistic.

So my resume: you are right, but we can dream.

I want so badly a Warcraft 4 announcement... it's beyond me why they haven't released WC 4 by now when back in the days Warcraft 3 ROC/TFT both were huge hits.
I remember that almost any time of the day you would log in EU there would be at least 200-300k players online and that's just EU.
It's true that nowadays RTS games tend to not be popular aka not enough money in that genre, but that's only cause Blizzard hasn't done a WC4. With how much monetization has changed they could easily put race skins for sale(like grunts looking different, heroes, buildings etc..) or they can do mission packs, custom game maps(like TDs/DOTA-lookalike, Angel Arenas etc..)

Not to mention that RTS is where the real eSports is at.

Btw the Blizzard universe has gotten, so big that I wouldn't be surprised if they make a game similar to Tekken, Street Fighter etc... fighter game using all the heroes that the Blizz universe have, like HotS does.

World of Diablo sounds nice(I mean not literally, the name needs to be changed, but you know what I mean), but I doubt that they will drop WoW just yet.
Also instead of World of Diablo, World of Blizzard Universe would be better :D

You're wrong about realistic mmorpgs. Blizzard goes for cartoon-ish on video games for a reason. They age better. MMORPGS -need- to age better. This has been Blizzard's go to aesthetic look.

Universe of Blizzard will be announced. Heroes from all IP's will be called to action as they find that the forces from the void have began to assemble an army of measurable evil to destroy all worlds.

Wasn't there a theory/HOTS proof the IP's were in the same universe? The tapestry you could weave between the different IP's to create an MMO would be stunning. I'm also hoping to win the powerball this week...

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Blizzards next plan is to make an mmo out of Overwatch in the vein of Destiny.  First person shooter mmos are probably the next big thing.  Being that the assets were supposed to be part of an mmo before.  It's not hard to imagine it being reintroduced in that manner.

wouldn't that be something, an MMO from a Lobby shooter made out of Art/Concept assets of a canceled MMO. . . talk about going full circle.

as much as i love to have warcraft 4 as i had so much fun with wc3 and tft, but i dont know there will be any wc4 anymore as if they make it it'd be a direct competition with wow (not player base wise but story progression wise). there reason why warcraft stop having 4 is all the linear story progression have gone into wow, so making wc4 just doesnt make sense as it'll either make wow jump a story plot or have 2 game on a same linear story plot which is errrr.... weird.

with that been said there can still be a warcraft, but it'll be something like warcraft zero or something which is a prequel of warcraft.

another main reason is that RTS is basically dead nowadays, with the community wanting game to be shorter or instant gratification and blizzard know that . you can tell by the last 2 new game by blizzard ,overwatch and hearthstone. both have short game time. because blizzard understand that the old gaming community have grown up, so less time to play, and the new gaming community is surrounded by mobile game, so short length per round or game is the way to go.

I'm actually interested in world of diablo, but will it be 3D like wow or stay 2D. if 3D then it'd lose the core of diablo game play, but if is 2D, then cough GG lost ark cough.

overwatch was a part of the titan project which got cancel. and the titan project meant to be the next big mmorpg. if the scrap that project, i doubt they'll go back to it as they said they wont make blockbuster game anymore

I still think that above even all of the recommendations up above. I would like to see Blizzard take a huge leap into the survival mmo market. Perhaps up the ante to 1000 players per server, and then allow for people to run their own servers as well. They already have all the assets and content. I think it would be remarkable. I do think though they would have to pull from what works from all of the survival games out there, and then shower it with their own special touch. Like how 7D2D, you can dig into the earth, and make underground bases. Really unleash players so that can do what they want to do.

I doubt they'll announce the next WoW expansion. If anything I think they'll announce that Argus is finally here and launch it the next day during maintenance. They always do expansion announcements at Blizzcon due to the hype, attendance, and coverage. Which worries me since that's a good deal away. Argus better have a LOT of content to offer. Because if they're waiting till Blizzcon to make the next expansion announcement. And with the amount of time and effort put into Argus. It means there will be a long content lull in WoW.

Not "always". There's precedence for Gamescom:

World of Warcraft: Legion is the sixth expansion set in the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) World of Warcraft, following Warlords of Draenor. It was announced on August 6, 2015 at Gamescom 2015.

    I always felt this.

I believe Blizzard decided to do with what worked so well with WoW

Make an MMORPG from a successful IP

Time has a way of changing peoples views.  If Blizzard sees themselves taking a large slice out of the FPSMMO market pie.  I'm betting they'll jump on it.  The same way they jumped on the mmorpg market when it was still fresh.

Does FPSMMO really have a big market now, not really I only see destiny doing OK well in this field. Blizzard make their money by going into a field that's already consist of strong ip , then blizzard make a very fine toon version game and beat those strong ip at that field. Such as sc/wc beating C&C AoE, HS beating yugioh pokemon magic, and ow beating paladin, dirty bomb and so on. But even doing that they get it wrong, like hots in the moba field. so I don't think blizzard will dip into a new field when that field is not overly active, maybe when anthem get good result, blizzard will think about it.
