Homeless MMORPG players.
Why and who would play Runescape 2.
Hi, are you looking for a mmorpg to play, do you take game play over graphics? Well runescape could be for you!
Firstly, to get this out of the way the game runescape is a java scripted, 3d browser based game. Where you live your life on the blade (or rune/ arrow what ever you feel like) and within the world of runescape you have non-combat skills such as Mining, smithing, crafting, farming, herblore, fletching, rune-crafting, thieving and several others that aid you in your RS life.
Now, the graphics seem to put most ‘fan boys’ off from playing. That’s only because they want to see the crisp lines of an arrow before it pierces the skin of a fellow PKer. But the true gamer can immerse them selves within the shoddy graphics and dream of the action while it happens in real-time. If you have ever played and dice rpgs or text based rpgs you can understand this feeling. Pick HIGH DEFINITION or YOUR MIND; I pick my mind any day.
Back to why you should play runescape, apart from the drug like addiction while playing, there is MASSES of things to do, only 3 people in the whole world can say they have completed runescape (but they haven’t got max exp in all skills yet, no one is even 10% there to that) some people complain about the grind of the game, that’s just being plain lazy, with skill you can master techniques to make your playing faster and even more enjoyable. Be it, power levelling or combining skills, there is always multiple ways of getting your levels.
MONEY, both in real life and in game. If you want to be a member you can be one for as little as £2.50 a month! Now you can’t say that’s a rip off can you. In-game prices or the most desirable (not the rare limited edition items) are dropping fast, I spent a small wealth of 11million gold pieces on an armour set, and now it’s only worth 8million gold pieces. I’m not annoyed at the money I ‘wasted’ I am amazed at the amount it has dropped in a small amount of time. Money isn’t the easiest item to come by, a small majority (like in real life) are going to go out of there way to take your earnings, and trust me I have lost out in the millions to scammers.
But now runescape has a ever increasing amount of MODERATORS (un-paid trust worthy players *ahem I used to be one*) and Jagex customer support (the paid people who work for runescape)
The community isn’t the best it has ever been to be frank it’s rather poor at the moment, but if you talk to and hang around with trusted, high level (and low level) players then your community experience will be a whole lot better and enjoyable not to mention the drop-party rewards from friendly high level players is extremely fun.
Runescape have a massive recently renovated forum with moderators patrolling them 24/7 to help your every want and need, be it on one of the hundred quests or gaining your millions.
The amount of items in runescape is extravagant they run into there THOUSANDS and a good proportion of them can be made by your self, and the others are monster drops, quest rewards rare holiday items and a nice stock of random event rewards. There is a massive supply of melee, range and mage armour, non combat armour and rare random event clothing sets. Weapons range from a pants bronze dagger, to a great axe that have lets you hit extremely high is used with the whole armour set. You can poison arrows, daggers, darts and spears with 3 different types of poison, and a special poison.
If that lot isn’t enough, when you reach a level over 30 in the top 1million players, you can look at your ranks. I my self am always happy to look at my ranks and say to my self ‘yes, I am within the top 10 thousand players, out of millions and millions of people.’ And that’s the main reason to fuel your gaming on runescape, MONEY, FRIENDS and RANKS.
I hope you homeless MMO players out there reconsider runescape 2 as a new home, it even has over 120 servers, holding up to 2 thousand people at any one time, and a few (world 1, 2 and 66) have a community built trading areas, made from the players and not Jagex. (The company that runs runescape) there is free to play and like I said the massive pay to play.
So why not try www.runescape.com even for a month, ignore the idiots on free to play and pop into members meet the friendly high level and low level players and grow into an inspiring character for the game and community.

Right i hear what you are saying, the quest in free to play ARE easy because its a demo and nothing more. But in pay to play there are a amount of hard and long quests that require allot of skills and time. As for quests being pointless well they aren’t they unlock : new quests, new weapons, new skills, new areas of the ever expanding game world and much more.
The weapon system is different to most games as it's mainly a die hit system aka d20 ect.. But combat isn't everything; there are a vast number of skills out there to master as I said.
as for me getting scammed, if you play you will most probably understand the Guthan spear scam, I say no more.
I used to play AO for about oh 10 seconds as it's not the same kind of ‘game’ as runescape you can't really say ones better (but yes AO does have a nice set of graphics)
Updates for runescape are EVERY week on the Monday and they are rarely ever late. They include new quests new graphics updates for cities (yes, that means the graphics are getting better) new item contents and so on. as runescape is java based the graphics cant be super amazing real time hair moving and so on but Jagex have won 'best java game' for runescape.
And nope that is not me in the picture, 1: I wouldn’t want to be near such shoddy MS paint work, and I would have 'will code XHTML for eq2 money'

PvP, and a lot less whiny babies. (they last a week when they're masochistic, not because of the community but because the game is actually challenging).

its obvious the OP was just joking, because Runescape doesn't even have any gameplay to start with. I seriously can't come up with anything good about this game, besides its pretty darn impressive for a browser game. its still a very poor mmorpg tough.
anybody who thinks Runescape is a good mmo:
1: Never even played any other MMORPG
2: has a computer from the stone age
3: doesn't know what the heck he/she is talking about
4: is drunk
5: all the above.
Only important part to me. There are free to play text only games with more interesting content than Rusescape. Actually more than most MMOs. It you cared about content and graphics don't matter to you then I don't understand why you would choose the lesser Rusescape to any of the text only options for a free to play browser game (some are java clients also but generally playable anywhere).
It’s down to what tickles your fancy so to say.
I love playing the old FF games on my beat up psx I think they rock ff IX was a heck of allot more enjoyable then FFX or FFXI put together. Why? Do I hear you ask? Well because the graphics were rubbish lets face it they were pants yet I still loved them. Sure there were pc games out there in the world that had kick ass graphics at the time but you needed and good GFX card.
There is something about the RS graphics that gives you a feeling unlike any of the AMAZING graphics. I cant stand great graphics I picked counter-strike and counter-strike condition zero over counter-strike source because I preferred thee shoddy graphics. My pc isn’t exactly pants either with duel-core p4 and icd 3.2 GHz processors.
Some people like text based RPG games.
Some people think graphics makes a game (normally fan boys that think its a extension to there size of manly-ness)
Some people like shoddy graphics, yet not text based.
But the amount of people that have polled 'I don’t play it I think its rubbish' how can you really say that? You can’t nock something till you try it. if you don’t like it because of the graphics you aren’t exactly a hard core gamer, if you don’t like it because you got into a bad community well sorry allot of mmoprgs are getting that way. if you don’t like it because you would rather play a game that needs pure skill, a brain full of stats and techniques they go play something like that as runescape isn’t like that. All you need to do is sit relax with online friends while leveling. Kind of like a mmorpg msn messenger.
