Players might have realized early on in the Destiny 2 beta, and now that it’s launched on PS4 and XBOX – the Sparrow, that handy little Star Wars-esque air bike? It’s nowhere to be found. Enemies often ride them, but where is my Sparrow in Destiny 2? How do you get a Sparrow in Destiny 2? Why is my Guardian so fat and slow? We answer these questions and more beyond the break.

Are they needed? In D1 they pretty much were, as there was a fair amount of traveling in between quests. If the game is designed around not needing one then this is no problem, they are just convenience. If you need one then this is clearly designed to push you to the loot boxes.

I think at end-game, they're more a convenience thing - time saver. The minute to minute fights are enough to keep you busy in D2 without it.

The campaign wasn't too long. I think I beat it in like 7 to 10 hours just focusing on story missions. They also really help you out not needing a sparrow with all of the fast travel way points on the maps. Honestly after 20 I still haven't used my sparrow much at all. They do look cool though, and I like the fact that you get to choose which body model you want your sparrow to have.

It'll be fun for the eventual races. :)

This is the kind of article I'd like to see more of on this site.

The maps are still huge in size, but they added a few extra fast travel points on each map. So you don't miss the Sparrow all that much. So now it's more like a convenience thing, although a very fun one :P

You don't have to finish the campaign, just hit level20 and you start earning bright engrams and boom! I had a Legendary Sparrow right on my first bright engram! ^^

Dang you got lucky. I got mine after about 6 or 7 engrams, and it was ugly as hell. Although I did get a cool exotic ship on my second one.
