Alpha 1 Rides Off Into the Sunset, Devs Plan for Alpha 2 - Wild West Online - MMORPG.com

Wild West Online News - The Wild West Online team has posted a brief note of thanks to players who took part in the first weekend event in Alpha 1 over the past few days and assured everyone that firm plans are in place for next weekend's second event. The post acknowledges the "ups and downs" of the experience, but also reminds readers that this is to be expected for an alpha build.

    Wait...

The original schedule had alpha 1 running until the end of September (i.e. 3 weekend tests).

Either there's a typo in this article or the devs have decided that things went so well in the first alpha session that they can accelerate the process ! :D

The original refund guarantee was only valid until the 27th September, which meant players would have to make a decision before the end of alpha 1. Hard to make a judgement on a "alpha build", so the devs covered themselves very cleverly...

    Clarified the wording:

When it comes to refund policies, its always good to read the small print.

    How is it?

Not to throw gas on the fire but doesn't this technically give them stipulation to argue refunds now and anyone that didn't get one over the weekend is essentially screwed now? Isn't this the very thing everyone said would happen?

The original refund guarantee was worded up until the 2nd alpha phase, the article this site first posted about it has the exact wording their website did. At some point they changed that wording to the 27th which is two days after the second alpha 1 weekend test. There is a third weekend alpha 1 test on the 29th-1st which you don't get anymore- that is why I decided not buy it because of that change in wording.

So they changed the wording to decrease the time you have to refund?

Was there at least an announcement on the official site about the change?

Don't know I only went to their site when mmorpg.com posted the article on refunds and on 13th when I was considering buying in and noticed the change.

I enjoyed the 1st test yes there was bugs. But come on it was Alpha 1 after all. But i think Alpha 2 will be even better with bug fixes ect. Can i go to sleep for the week and wake up next weekend LOL.? can't wait.
Right, because so many bugs and fixes can be implemented in a week.  If you think this game is going to be very different next weekend, you have a big disappointment coming.

If they didn't at least release an announcement, they should honor the original date to anyone who bought in prior to the timeline change being made.

@SBFord, do you guys have any idea if there was an announcement made on the changing of refund deadline?  Ninja-revising the refund timeline would be pretty shady if you don't plan on honoring the original timeline to players who bought into the game under that impression.

I was dissapointed. did not think the game was worth the cost and i put in my refund request since you can only do this BEFORE Alpha 2 so you had to make a decision. Especially since the game was £59.99 to UK people (same pricetag no price conversions, so 59.99 euro to euro players and 59.99 to US players. Meaning UK players were paying close to $80. I could have forgone that but the game was dissapointing at this stage. I am also not the only one thats done this, alot have done so.

However i do hope that the devs make a good and nicer game, I will take a look when it nearers release stage on this one, lets see what happens, but collectors edition i will not purchase if i did try it again.
