Fortnite announced and set into beta, Fortnite Battle Royale. A new game mode which feels and looks much like the popular game PUBG (Player Unknown Battlegrounds) with a Fortnite twist. The game mode was a huge hit and even more of a hit when announce it will be a completely FREE to play mode for PS4, XBOX, PC and Mac with its release on Sept. 26 2017.

    Fortnite is a great game, but not without its flaws.

    And I dont know why PUBG is getting upset. You can't claim ownership over a genre of games. Or, at least it hasnt been done yet and they have no precedent in court.

    WoW, LoL, HoTS, GW2 would not exist if this were possible to do.

    I don't think its the game mode they are upset with. Its the EPIC engine. I could be wrong but I think I read that from an article on this site somewhere.

    A little heads-up:

    there are no rewards for winning (at the moment)
    there will be micro transactions for cosmetics in the near future. (hopefully not llama rng) you can't pick your skin/looks

    Im not interested in Battle Royale so i wont be missing out on anything by skipping PUBG and Fortnite´s BR. I will be playing PVE in Fortnite, nothing else.

    If PUBG had a building and PvE mode i would be more interested in getting that game. As it is now its just not for me.

    EDIT: also, after trying the BR in Fortnite i have to say that the eye of the storm mechanic makes the game mode even more ridiculous. Why make a big map if you are going to force people to a tiny portion of it? I hope the PvE mode doesnt do that.

    Whoa, what do they mean they are going free to play? That was my idea when I made up games on the playground as a kid, are you really going to rip the concept of playing games for free from me Epic?

    I think that's a common feature of BR games. You gradually restrict the play space to promote conflict. Otherwise, the games would take hours to complete.
