I can't believe he'd use his development and publishing company to play politics and make fun of the POTUS, but that's exactly what he's doing. See for yourself, in the dialog "Phineas Drumplemouth" is the NPC.
Makes me wonder: if the game was released 5 years ago and for some reason the developers wanted to "make fun" of the previous president, what would they have had to do? The NPC would have had to speak like a cohesive, rational and well educated man.
Phineas Drumplemouth instead talks like a deranged, illiterate and self-centered man. What stands out to me is that, even without any actual reference, just by the way he talks, it seems so obvious that he's inspired by Trump.
That was pretty weird, the whole blood thing. Now he's trying to sell his hair. No one knows what he'll sell next but there have been some really weird requests from his followers (poop, toenails).
I mean, I can't boycott a game I had no intention of ever playing anyway. Lord Autism British can keep doing what he wants with other peoples' money, that's coo.
Making fun of political leaders isn't exactly something new, been done since Roman times and I notice that the same people who get upset when someone make fun of a leader they like tend to laugh when they make fun of someone they don't like.
No matter who is the President he will have to live with stuff like this (MAD magazine have been doing it for a long time with every president) and so will you have to. Just ignore it if you don't think it is funny.
To be honest, our president does talk like this. Its quite embarrassing.
"Sean (Murray) saying MP will be in the game is not remotely close to evidence that at the point of purchase people thought there was MP in the game." - SEANMCAD

The satire is pretty spot on, the problem with the game doing this though is the quest and the virtue consequences a person will suffer if they go against the President, (I mean the NPC Drumplemouth). Depending on what you do (if you do what Trump wants or if you do something else) your gameplay experience could either be promoted or penalized. It's a heavy political call out and something that is immersion breaking.

As a Swede I can tell you that people are more annoyed by all your worthless liberal trash and your constant attention whoring on social media. Wah wah wah not muhh presiduuunttt. I hope the EU goes through and blocks Facebook and Twitter.
True or false? You post on Breitbart?

While this is an in-game thing and so forth, it's still politics. My guess is that there are Reddit threads and SotA threads that are discussing this. My suggestion is to head to one of those.

Whether it's a wise business decision to do this in a paid product/service is another discussion.
