Why do people feel the need

to post thier opinions on how soon this game is going to fail?  I just dont follow the reasoning.  I can understand posting your thoughts on the game, and why you think it sucks, but whats the point in all these posts stating "this game wont last the summer, just read the DDO forums".  A ton of posts during the headstart had said the same things about how the game wouldnt last past the first free month, funny, its still here

The one thing i have learned that is a fact is that number of players in a game does not mean a better quality game.  Not trying to call out the WoW fanbois, but WoW is a great example, 4million+ subscriptions, 50+ million a month in just sub fees, and they just now made an effort to remove the wait time to play.  Also thier content updates are no better then most of the other games out there that have far less subscribers.  Plus the fact at release they had promised no charge expansions.  Looks to me like they are charging for the expansions.  Just proves more people does not mean better service or a better game.

DDO will be just fine.  There is no mass exit, and forums are not a way to judge that anyway.  Every Game has the large number of "i am leaving this game because..." type posts.  The people that are staying are not on the boards posting "I am staying for these reasons..." because they are too busy playing the game.

Every new games starts with these posts after the first day of release,  it is just one persons opinion.  I like reading them becuase they usually say " Yea I logged in took 1 step and this game sucks, it will not last"  They paly teh game for 5 mins and think they saw everyhting.  I was jsut readin one on Auto Assualt and they guy said he played till lvl 3 which takes like 2 mins lol.

It is jsut human nature to rebel and be negative I guess.

I like DDO, I think it is fun and every lvl the game jsut gets better and better

    Yeah dude, what you said.

I can see the whole reasoning about 'some' people being negative by nature and having to voice their opinion about something if it is bad, but once you have voiced it and 'warned' everyone about your experience, it should be ok and you should be able to move on, right?

But yet there are some people on this forum here, who seem to come back day after day after day, to a forum for a game they don't even play anymore, and that they 'reviewed' already, and keep posting about how bad it is... Like there is no other purpose in their life. This is what can't be understood by my puny western european mind, this need to keep flaming it, weeks or even months after you have stopped playing and told everyone why. What makes people do that, lack of interests, bitterness, where does it come from, please enlighten me... :)

People complain about a game they had a bad experience with because they are disappointed or upset about the game.  They want to share their problems with the game just as those who enjoy it like to come on the forums and praise it to no end.  Countless posts have been put up about the faults of the game, and multiple people have come on to argue them.  Sure, some of the posts are the immature, "This game sucks" or "This game is God" posts.  But the majority of the negative posts on this forum and the official are about legitimate problems and complaints.  And the big point is that they have every right to come on a post their opinions or make references to the game and its potential.  I don't know where you people live, but you're just going to have to deal with the Americans who like to speak their mind.

We don't live under some MMO Nazi regime where you aren't allowed to talk negatively about Hitler (Turbine).  If you don't agree with their practices or the quality of the product they have delivered, then let your voice be heard!  Maybe there are people out there who share your opinions or those who are on the fence about whether to buy the game or not.  Gamers of the world unite (...I'm really starting to sound like a nut, aren't I?)!  Seriously though, sit back and relax.  Everyone has an opinion and they're all entitled to it.

You have to remember the age demographic of alot of these sites.      You are not dealing with the most mature and stable posters on alot of these sites.

"Im actually amazed that companies do not ignore them... it is a lesson spelled out in virtually every game. The down side is they tend to be vocal and then parroted (repeated) by the wanna-be posers.
What I mean is that a lot of people fake being uber thinking it gives them some level of credibility. They just repeat what the power levelers complain about and it takes on a life of its own.

Developers can end that cycle by simply publishing once a month the percentage of people at X level and using that as a guide to when new content needs to be released"

This was taken from a poster on the LoTRO forums relating to level caps and power level players.   It relates big time to the people that immediately post on forums the first few weeks of games.

I think if you look at most of the game forums in here you will find 1 or 2 very vocal negative posters and they seem to attract other people that have never even played the game they are commenting on.
