EU--US servers

in Auto Assault

For starter I would like to say "sorry" if there was such a topic before , I just cant get the darn search function to work propertly for me :) Ok now to my question:

I am about to buy the AA code from plaync but have a hard time deciding if I want the US or EU version (I live in the EU) . Let me explain : After quiet a few mmorpg's played I have come to the conclusiob that EU players are treated "second class" alot of the time (patches late even 1 month , alot worser forums , etc) hence I would love to get my hands on the US version .

The only problem I see here is that sometimes my gaming hours might be a bit odd to US players (I play mostly evening but sometimes I can play durring day which would be night in the US) , so is there a way to change servers like in Guild Wars ? (you could change servers up to 5 times) . Ehh why cant the companies just do global servers :P ahh i know everything would be to easy then :)

    As far as im aware, there's 3 servers based on language (english, german and french) so it shouldnt make any difference.

    you are talking about the EU server list (1 english , 1 french and 1 german) but there are also US servers ..I ordered the Us version so I guess I'll get my answer soon . It wonders me thou , it was a simple question that anybody owning a US version could answer but I see this community is not to helpfull ...

    How do you purchase the code?

    When I try to order AA on plaync.com, it brings me to a list of retailers to purhcase the retail box, there's no digital download purchase.

    Well thats f'ing sh*t. I dont want to be restricted by what copy I buy. Why the hell do these companys make moronic decisions like this? I bet its the nub marketing people. WTF! If your in a guild, and someones from the uk, and someones from america, they cant play together because they've bought different retail boxes. How dumb is that? WERE ON THE FUCKING INTERNET YOU RETARDS! The word INTERNET is sub derived from: INTER=INTERNATIONAL. NET=NETWORK. AN INTERNATIONAL NETWORK!  Damn, I wanted to play this game with guildies. One of my friends was going to buy the uk retail box today. I dont know if he bought it yet. Now I have to choose which one to play. Friends or guildies. What a pile of shit.I've got a strong incline to do neither now. Same thing happened with WOW.

    Lemme get this right.  If you buy the US version the only people you will see in game are other people who have the US version?  That would be rough on my guild as well having people all over many countries who play together.  There aren't shared servers on different copies of the game?  Can anyone confirm this?  How many servers are there on the ... say ... US version?

    I'm going to email them and see, before I make a decision on whether to purchase this or not. If it is the case that they have segregated everyone by region, I'll ask them why they done that. It's crazy and makes no sense. I went over to the english european forum and there is hardly any threads. I dont want to be stuck on a dead european server.

    I messaged this to their customer service department,

    "If I want to play on an American server can I do it? And if so, how? The guild I'm in, will be split in half if we can't. I wont play on a european server. I am dissapointed at the decision to have regional segregation. The descision to , and I quote, 'to provide players with the best possible online experience, with lower ping times and localised support / community teams', is utter nonsense. I have never experienced bad ping problems when playing mmorpgs, with servers based in America.

    Having regional specific customer service for the UK doesn't make sense. It's fair enough for the french and germans, due to language problems, but what difference will it make with American and UK support? There might be some confusion if I start talking about my pants, and an american starts talking about their fanny. Apart from that, and other word definitions and spelling differences, I dont understand this decision to split up regions if they speak the same language. If the developers feel the ping times are bad, then they should reccomend european based players, play on european servers and let them make their own decision. Being able to play with my friends offsets the effect of longer pings, but as I said before, I've never experienced poor gameplay due to playing on an American server. Alot of UK based players mix with Americans and join guilds together. These friendships carry over through games."

    I'll probably get some BS generic response but I want to know their BS generic reason is. It really annoys me when they segregate english speaking regions or any regions in fact. I'll post the email if I ever get one. Bunch of f'ing amateurs.

    making changes to improve the game and looks at your feedback very closely to
    make this happen.

    You are able to enter bugs while in game by simply
    typing /bug and the pressing enter. You will then be given various selections to
    help define the bug. Select the appropriate field then enter the bug
    description. Once you are happy with your bug report press accept. These bug
    reports are viewed by the QA department on a daily basis.

    Please note
    that in addition to writing us, you should always feel free to post your
    constructive opinions/feedback/suggestions at our official Auto Assault message
    board (http://uk.boards.autoassault.com),
    where your fellow players and the dev team will be able to view them first
    hand.

    Jesus guys calm down before you burst something!

    There is no international conspiricy here, it's just a way of keeping the lag down but having servers closer to the player base. If you want a US version then order it from amazon.com instead of amazon.co.uk.
