Destiny 2 News - The latest "This Week at Bungie" article has been published to give Destiny 2 players the latest news about the game. Of particular note in this week's discussion is the fact that bringing Clan Chat into D2 is "one of our highest priorities".

    Why not just have regular chat with channels? How does stuff like this get put on a backlog?

    I don't know why they're even bothering, chat is all but completely disabled by default and turning it on (what little you can turn on) is a pain in the ass. It either needs a complete overhaul or be axed all together.

    I was wondering what I was doing wrong! AAA Sequel launching without clan chat. Inconceivable!

    I personally don't want chat.  It is the first thing I hide/disable in any game.  The only people I want to hear I talk to in Discord and most of the time I don't want to hear them either =)

    Take the stupid timers out of the Nightfall strike and make matchmaking for it too. It's really annoying finding rando's on the forum and having to add them by battletag then add them to your group in game. Too many steps.

    Why would you want chat?  The forums, reddit the few who don't play the game come to sites like this and cry all day it's nice jumping into the game and not seeing the toxic tears that are all over the internet.  In most games like wow the world chat is turned off by the majority of players and would be the case here.

    wait. They are thinking about allowing clans to use their keyboards to type words to one another ON LINE in 2017.

    This is something they are "working on" and "prioritizing".
    Didn't these people claim that their PC port was really good and not at all a bad console kludge?

    Do they always say weird things like this?

    They don't need matchmaking for Nightfalls, what they do need is custom channels or a LFG channel along with the clan chat. So we can do it the old school way.

    Haha, making such a big deal out of adding chat to the game "high priority" haha, honestly, if a game has to make a big deal out of something that should of been at launch... That's a bad sign, but no surprises there, they are past their top selling point, they won't make as much money anymore, time to just keep the game live with minimal developments, add an expansion or two, see how they sell, and move on to destiny 3. Kinda like assasians creed, and actually, for those who enjoy destiny 1/2 i guess it's a fine deal, enjoy for some time and move to a tiny bit different version with some different lore, items ect... This approach is much better then sucking the life out of the game with micro transactions, i guess it's a bit more risky, but it does provide a lot of income to the company at each to "re release" of an alternate version of the game. I wish mmos would do that actually, imagine having fresh start servers after1-2 years with a new game, that is based on the old ideas of the original game, but changing some key maps, as the story evolves, upgrading the graphics, animations a bit.. . Tweaking things from player feedback, honestly, it's in a way easier for the developers, else mmorpgs end up with so much data and features, it becomes impossible to add anything new without overwriting/ effecting something old.

    Basically clicking away text windows ruins every MMO, try to have fun instead of rushing things. Without story and lore all there is left is a bunch of mechanics.
