So a bit over 18k. Yeah that's a bit. Well for me.

I'm sure the guy who bought it has that falling out of his pocket on the weekends.

Wait, they're doing "luxury auctions" now?  BDO, still on the cutting edge of selling virtual crap for real money.

Life is all about maximizing neurotransmitter release to our reward centers. I am sure if we look close enough at our life, we've paid exorbitant amounts for stuff.

But if you have 18k to burn, go burn it on whatever makes you happy. He could be an oil rich saudi kid. That would be basically be his allowance.

Either way, money usually doesn't make people happy, the absence of it sure does, but not the plethora of it.

I see that the mmorpg.com forum is full of misinformation as always. Enjoy reading how the system works if you'd like to actually be informed:

Or maybe it was a simple mistake since no mention of currency was made in the original twitch feed unless you read down to the player interview?

    CLUB NEVERDIE

Club Neverdie, located on a virtual asteroid near a virtual planet in a virtual universe, just sold for $635,000 real dollars.

"Club Neverdie" is one of the hottest virtual properties in the Entropia Universe, the first virtual world with a real cash economy. An asteroid around Planet Calypso, Entropia's first planet, is the club's home. Jacobs bought the asteroid in 2005 for $100,000, after taking out a mortgage on his real-life house, according to Forbes.

Since then, Club Neverdie became a haven for other players visiting its bio-domes, nightclub, stadium and mall. Jacobs was making around $200,000 in actual cash every year from players purchasing virtual goods and services, Forbes explains.

I think the Feds are cracking down on a lot of this virtual income stuff.

I've read on many places including youtube video about this game selling some crazy amounts of real money including a 6 million dollars planet sold awhile back. The thing is I'm a cable guy and install internet so I run into gamers all the time and I'm not shy to talk about gaming and never ever ran into someone that plays this, it has to be an European kinda game cause here in USA never saw anyone playing it. I've had customers that played Second Life and their only incoming in real life was that game selling things in game made by photoshop or something I don't understand that game.

To be fair, the odds are there that at least some of that silver came from the Pearl shop. That's probably a strong motivator behind these super exclusive items - encouraging players to quickly buy some Pearl Stuff in the hope that they can make enough to win these things (and waste time and money in the process xD).

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

I thought the same but when I looked it up seems many believe there's really no efficient way to convert RL cash to silver quickly.

I think that only goes for our NA/EU version. KR doesn't have the weekly cap on Pearl sales I believe. I've never played on their servers myself though.

Yeah it's strange to me how little money matters to some people. There is a relatively (or was I haven't seen him in a while) popular Twitch.tv viewer named Motar2k, who would donate HUGE amounts to players who he liked watching out of nowhere. He gave one streamer (Shroud) something like 40k total dollars in donations, one of which was 10k in one donation. Friberg another CSGO streamer ended up saying he didn't want a 10k donation from motar when he donated it to him. Motar2k has also done videos of him opening up 3000 cases in csgo, which is 7500 dollars in just keys to open them alone, not counting the case cost if he bought all of them from other players. He opened up about it once saying that he is from an oil tycoon family, and has ALOT of money that he could go spend in clubs or a casino but he likes to give it to people he watches more. One of his donations alone would clear my debt, it's just nuts to see how different people treat money.

KR is capped by how many pearls you can buy per month (although people were bypassing this by purchasing pearls on another account and gifting it to their main account)

The screenshots in the OP from inven show the silver currency icon in the window. No correction really, just people not looking or caring enough to pay attention.
