all the idiots in the past who have came on here blabbing about how theres nothing in the game.. have obviously never played anything except two weeks before wow was released...
ANYONE who has done a resonable amount of beta testing knows how its done. I wont say anything more since the blabbermouth who started this thread decided to blab hehe.

Think you have what it takes to take the 'Oath of the legion' and become a true soldier of Rome?
Service guarantees citizenship!
I think that at this stage part of the NDA should be changed. At this stage is it really nessacary for the beta testers to keep themselves hidden? There are other games where the beta testers are allowed to show who they are, aslong as nothing unofficial within the beta is leaked.
My point being the NDA was promised to be lifted "soon" practically a year ago, and hasn't...which I am not totally against, but stating you are a beta tester isn't leaking information! I think Kishe didn't say anything which could do any damage....stating you are a beta tester has what consequences?
I don't know what to put here yet.
when KFR says the NDA is down, the NDA is down. Untill then there is a NDA
I mentioned something that breached NDA? I said nothing....just stuff which I know has been officially mentioned....let me know please if I did breach anything please!
Anyway, I never said remove the NDA. I said lighten it a little....give beta testers atleast the liberty to state who they are and how they feel about the game without going into non-officially mentioned beta details.
Tell me of people who don't like Roma Victor, and yet they haven't broken NDA by stating they are beta testers, and what they don't like about it.
It might also increase word of mouth and generate more interest in the game, knowing that the beta testers actually enjoy it.....its very positive on a game to know its beta testers enjoy playing it.
I don't know what to put here yet.

I mean isn't it obvious that the screenshots tell the players who the beta testers are when they see their nicknames ingame? Imagine my nickname "Micaelis" was in one of those screenshots....people would get the idea I am a beta tester, which would be correct if I was a beta tester. And unfortunately, there are people on these forums, who have their nicknames displayed in some of the screenshots...and have the same or similar nicknames on these forums.
Won't they be identified as beta testers?
I think the NDA should be lifted slightly to allow beta testers to identify themselves and finally give their personal view of what they think of Roma Victor to the rest of the community still waiting. Aslong as they don't go into detail and leak any unofficial information how can it hurt the development....especially at such a late stage.
Last thing to keep in mind, if you are not going to let beta testers identify themselves and give their own personal views on this game for marketing reasons.....lets say you are worried some testers will give very negative opinions about the game......isn't that going to happen anyway?
What is stopping the old testers who don't like the game from blabbing about it?
May I ask you something funny......can you even imagine a tester who doesn't like the game for noobie tester reasons to still abide by the NDA?
I don't know what to put here yet.
In the early days we made people change their character names and asked them not to use their forum names in game. We dont do that now simply because we have so many testers it's rediculas to even imagine being able to keep them all "legal".
And as far as keep ing people from spreading negative press about the game. Every MMORPG has that problem, we're no different. If we wanted to however we could pull up the NDA, and see them in court, because after all, it is a legally binding agreement. However, Commercial testers didnt sign NDA, but they did agree to the testing agreement which states that they agree not to discuss the test outside of the private RV testing forums. If they violate this, we can ban their account. Usually what we do is contact the offenders, try to find out what they were expecting, then explain our position. This usually results in them appologising and removing the violating material.
Sorry for misspellings...I'm doing this while working at my RL job.

I always like to play crafter on the games that have such option available, so I could concentrate on testing that aspect... That and I'd be happy to craft Kishe's cross!!!!
SOE knows what you like... You don't!
And don't forget... I am forcing you to read this!

The damage in this case would be Libel. Naturally something this small scale wouldn't be a worry, but the point is the option is there.

I thought the requirement for it not to be true only existed in certain jurisdictions? Bah, I'm deviating this off-topic probably...
