Star Wars: Battlefront II News - Beginning today, Star Wars: Battlefront II players will see the first free DLC content themed around Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi. Players will be able to choose whether to ally themselves with the New Republic or the First Order and on December 13th take part in a much beefier DLC that will see Captain Phasma and Finn added as well as the Crait Galactic Assault map, the D'Qar Starfighter Assault map and Tallie's A-Wing vehicle added. All tie-in DLC are free.

    I hadn't been checking the updates and was pretty surprised this morning when I was prompted to choose a side then after my 1st round I got nearly 2k credits. It's a good change IMO. I'm looking forward to the new map and single player missions.

    Controversies aside I've been enjoying this one since launch and play at least a few rounds every day and even with my mediocre FPS skills I've been able to level up my troopers abilities with no issues.

    Yeah, EA usually has more positives than negatives for their actual games, its just most of the negative outweighs the positives when they try to monetize every single thing. Doesn't help that they believe "linear single player titles aren't as well received in today's market compared to multiplayer titles" a.k.a. "we can milk more from my customers if we focus on multiplayer titles as opposed to single player ones."

    * Not counting the cost of lootboxes to get star cards for the new heroes / ship, and that's even assuming there is no cost to unlock them in the first place.

    But hey, at least the elastic-band bots can grind credits twice as fast now.
