    I can play the game just fine, but I can't participate.
    Is this a physical box or something like that? :(

    Usually im open to trying new games, but the anime graphics are a major turnoff.

    The region lock is do to money matters, Just as if you got a region locked key for steam, you would not be able to redeem it in any other region but the one is came from. All games now do this to make more money and so sales in other regions go up.
